Margaret, this shot was just pure luck. We were walking along the paths in the gardens and I looked up and saw it, and realized that it might be a good shot. I did crop the left side a bit because there was some distracting greenery in the foreground. I didn't notice the brown spot. Thanks for pointing it out.

Emily, I like the idea that you were going for, but the two things that catch my eye in the photo are the blanket and the balloon. I don't like the fact that neither one is in clear focus. I find the out of focus blanket in the foreground too distracting. |

This is such a fun shot. I love that all the detail is tack sharp, especially the teeth. The mixture of lines and textures is great. |

Beautiful shot! I love all the detail in the flower and the way you used the lens to soften everything around it. To me it really makes the flower stand out. I agree about the white areas. I find that backgrounds are the hardest part of taking pictures of flowers, but I love this shot. |

Margaret, this photo looks very pretty. I love the pristine snow on top of everything. I played with it in Luminar. I straightened it and also played with a template to enhance the trees a little. Really nice image. |

This is a really beautiful composition. I love all the textures. I understand why people are suggesting that the photo should be straightened, but I also tried straightening and didn't like the way it cropped the photo. You have done a great job of leaving just enough space around the church to showcase it nicely. The straightening makes it feel too crowded to me. I did like the idea of taking off a little of the dark area on the left. I really like the amount of the plaza in front of the church that you included. Also, I liked the "feeling" of standing under a tree in the original shot. The cropping seems to ruin that. Wish there was another way to straighten it just a little. |
