17 Apr 23 Comment It's interesting that we have two train related photos this month. Then I sat down to watch the news and they had a report on steam engines in the UK and the problem with coal. These country heritage railroad lines are financially burdened by the cost of coal since the Ukraine war started. Here's the news report: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_-IozzOqzQ Apr 23rd
17 Apr 23 Reply Hi Sheldon, Thanks for the comments. The canal first opened in 1914 and is only 32 feet deep. So I would imagine large container vessels wouldn't be able to go thru it. I did try to make the sky a little bluer since it was a cloudy day and it was after 10am in the morning. Which is not the best time of day to photo. The one thing about your edit is the bridge is not the correct color. I will take the fault for the blue color since I tried to enhance the sky. Apr 17th
17 Apr 23 Reply I was kind of close to it. There wasn't much to it the wider you went. Apr 14th
17 Apr 23 Reply Good point on the water tower. I concentrated on the railroad bridge but can see how it sticks out. Apr 14th
17 Apr 23 Comment The color of the sunrise with the fog and shadows really make this photo. Maybe a little cropping from the top down to the top of the first main cloud coming in from the left would also make a difference. Apr 12th
17 Apr 23 Comment The reverse vignette makes a difference to the photo. Definitely very creative. I think you achieved your goal. Apr 12th
17 Apr 23 Reply Did you manually focus? Apr 4th
17 Apr 23 Comment Good closeup of the hawk. The clarity of the eyes especially the one of the right really stands out. Tough photo with the background. Maybe if you erased the flowers in the background and replaced them with the green color it might work. Apr 4th
17 Apr 23 Comment I have seen many photos from here but not this one. I didn't see the building until you told us. Maybe a small crop from the bottom since my eye is attracted to there. Apr 4th
17 Apr 23 Comment Really good detail. Like the different colors of the ground and the blending in of the shadows caused by the time of day and sunlight. I think that maybe some of the top could of been cropped down to near the farm on the upper right. My eyes get attracted to the distance. Apr 4th
17 Apr 23 Comment This is really well done. I like the man and his dog on the opposite platform with both looking at the train. Looks better than an empty platform. The bird in the sky adds more to it as well. I guess basically there is a lot to look at besides a train. My biggest challenge on a photo like this for me is getting it all in focus. Do you have access to the settings for this photo? Apr 4th
