I like Joe's crop and worked on it. I also made all the changes in PS and not using Topaz Studio 2. I think the color and detail looks better. Here is an update. |

Really sharp and focused on the bird. I like seeing the details of it's feathers and hair. |

Definitely a really good photo with a challenging and differential daylight scenario. The only ideas I can advise is adjusting the details a little like Joe did of the mountain side and bringing down the brightness/speckles of the forefront. Again the forefront is a challenge since it is brighter than the background. Nice photo! |

Important photo of how we eat today.
Time is of the essence in a shot like this with no one in front. I think that if there was time a shot standing further back by 5-15 feet would have focused better on the vendor as a central figure in the shot. Times Square is a challenge so not knowing the real background for the photo would have meant adjusting or dulling the background to make the vendor standout.
Cool photo of a NYC street food vendor. |

I really liked the concept of this photo. It is a photo at this time in life (COVID-19) that brings out what someone has done in their life. Maybe two photos to see without the bear and then one with a smaller bear sitting on the stern would have been a different approach to the photo.
Again very creative and I do like it. |

Hi Everyone,
Thank you Joe Kennedy for the introduction. It was a surprise to me that we are both a member of the same group and the same photo club. Joe...behave yourself and I will as well. :)
Joe...I didn't know you could take such a great photo and process it with an iPhone like this photo. My wife Dolores is doing a lot with her iPhone but not doing much processing. I'm bias...but her photos are really great.
For those of you not a member of our club the competition committee has looked at smart phone photography as not a camera until last year when I pushed (club VP) on the committee. Obviously there are things DSLR's can do better but smart phones can do a lot and as they progress they will be a major competitor to the DSLR industry. Until we can afford to have multiple DSLR's with one sitting in our cars for any scenario the smart phone is the answer.
As I said before in my comments about my photo I am really looking forward to learning and sharing information.
Thank you allowing me to be a part of your group!
Joe

I like the photo My wife and I as well as our 2 sons and their wives went to Scotland last September but we took trains from London to Glasgow and Edinburgh to get there. After seeing your photo it brought back memories of a great trip!
I like the photo and feel a little cropping may help it but then again the photo is of your moment in time and is your experience. Some photographers may look at it as a photo that is too small or not of importance. A photo like this points out the things we miss in life. Sometimes the original has more value to me personally than the photo submitted for a wider audience or competition to approve of it. |

Yes it is Pre-COVID-19. I agree it can be tweaked and changed multiple times but I do like the post by Peter in that it could use some cropping. I was interested in more of a wide angle to it but I'll see what it look like when I adjust. Thank you for your comments. Very much appreciated! |

Thank you for the post. I am really looking forward to being active in the group. I am going to review the original photo and look into cropping. Nice catch on it being a little crooked.
Yes, the photo was taken before COVID-19. You wouldn't catch me in there now if it was as busy as that day. However, a recent photo in the Boston Globe showed it very empty. Maybe a COVID-19 photo for comparison is a possibility next I go in to Boston.
