Alex, this is a very interesting shot. I also like your second choice. Like Pete, I would have brightened the background a bit. For as outgoing as Huell Howser was (he hosted a travelog-type show in CA), it sure looks like a lonely place to live. |

Richard, I never noticed that square pattern until you brought it up. Yes flying closer to the building would have been a good idea. |

Drema, the tilted comment is well taken. Viewer may not be familiar with the location. A tilt is a tilt. :-)

Richard, I can't add anything useful to what others have offered. Except, I might be tempted to remove the clouds. Useful? FWIW |

Lou,
Personally, I think I would have stayed with the original shot, as you did. Of all the Composition guidelines, I find that of having a balanced image the hardest to appreciate and understand.
In your case, since this is a video capture, you may be running out of pixels. |

Pete,
I really like the saturated colors in this image. It looks like all you needed to do in post was to increase the brightness a bit. Regardless of what did you ended up with an image that really captures the beauty of the wildflowers. |

Drema, using a bracketed exposure really made this picture. I noticed the original had a car or two in the lower left corner that you wisely eliminated.
I might have cropped a bit more off the left to eliminate the red light near the top, may have also cleaned upthe lower left corner - ya, kinda nitpicky.
Hard to find a constructive comment on such a beautiful image.

Lisa, overall, I really like your image. Yes, the sky on the left is a bit blown out. Maybe bracketing the image or replacing the sky would improve the image as mentioned by others. I especially like the post editing you did to increase the blue of the water and the color saturation in general. |

Thanks, Pete. I see your point regarding cropping out the right part of the image and creating a portrait mode image. I am not so sure of the slant. From memory, it seems to me the mesa was sloping. |
