You right, Lisa. There is a lighthouse at Point Firmin. I did have it in a previous photo, but it was not reviewed that well - again too many things to focus on problem. LOL

Thanks, Drema. I see it. Cropping the right edge slightly makes a lot of sense, as does adding a vignette. I need to give that a try. Thanks. |

For me at least, it is hard to make that detailed of judgement while you are flying. I need to try making vertical and horizontal two-pic panos to get the right composition. |

You are right, Lou. I do tend to fly in the middle of the day. And then right off the bat, my images lose a lot. |

I like the Toledo tank in the photo. It identifies the location and completes the story for me.

This coastline is in San Pedro, just south of Palos Verdes, which is more restrictive. |

I guess it is just me. To me, your final image looks like an enhanced Original 2. Oh well, as I said I like the result. :-) |

Thanks, Pete. I had forgotten about that. I guess that is why Adobe thought that adding that capability to PS/LR would be appropriate for a professionally used program. |

Pete, you are right about drone images having more noise than those from a DSLR-type camera, in my case an R5. My approach is to use a tad of noise reduction in LR. Maybe I need to try your approach. Also, why not just use the HDR result, even though it may not be needed? I have often done that as well. |

The camera model should read FC220. |

Hi Lisa,
This is an excellent image, especially since used a frame grab from a video taken with your iPhone!
The video illustrates just how well the gimbal works on a DJI drone, even on a somewhat windy day. I would be willing to bet your drone was bouncing around a bit, which is not visible in your clip at all.
What was the resolution of the original video?
I believe I would have color corrected the video and sill image a bit. The road appears to have a magenta cast to it.
I love to take photos of coastlines and especially like the curving road of your shot. |

Lou,
The sharpening of the original image using Topaz worked great. The amount of detail you captured is stunning. The rising smoke adds interest to your shot.
I personally like the added color saturation of the grass in the foreground. The sky is not terribly interesting to me. I would have tried using the Sky Replacement tool of Photoshop to give it a bit more character. But that is probably a no-no for any PSA competition. |

Hi Drema,
I love the saturation and contrast of your final image. As I view the image, I see it as an exception to having you main subjects fall near the intersection of the vertical and horizontal lines of the rule of thirds. You choose to use the upper and lower horizontal gris lines to separate the two main areas of interest.
When I look at the two originals that were used to create the panorama, I do not see it. To me, it looks like you created the bottom original. What am I missing here?
But, however you did it, you ended up with a beautiful result. |

Well Pete, the difference between the original and your edited version is quite striking. I am going on a road trip to the Grand Canyon at the end of June. I hoping that using your technique and flying just outside on the national park will allow me to have the same success as you.
As I look at your original, I am curious why you chose that exposure to edit. I would have chosen a somewhat darker one and brightened it a bit. Was your choice driven by wanting to preserve as much of the shadow details as possible?
At any rate you have captured a stunning image.

Hi Janos,
I really like the color saturation you seem to have added. I do find the patch of bare ground in the upper left a little distracting. Possibly cloning that out might work to retain your chosen composition. I am wondering what a tighter crop would have done to the image?
What type of drone are you using?
