Bob & Lou, I agree with both of your comments regarding the shot being a bit dark for most people's likes. My images do tend to be high contrast, and more saturated than most. In hindsight, this image could have been brightened.
And of course I did work the mage in Photoshop. I purposely did not reveal I had used Photoshop's new Replace Sky command, not to fool or mislead anyone. I wanted to see just how obvious the replacement was.
Also, I am the front person in the photo.

Hi Bob, sorry for my late reply. My comments and style preference are similar to those of Bob's. It results in a more more dramatic sky.
However, if the final result is a bit overdone for your preference, or if you do not have similar plugins, reducing the exposure and adding a bit of contrast might be a way to make it closer to "my" preferred look.
I envy you being able to take photos of anchored ships. I tried it at the Los Angeles Harbor and got a warning from the local police. :-) |

Bob, sorry for the late comment. This photo again illustrates the excellent quality and detail that can be obtained by using a frame capture to acquire just the picture you are after. I like the composition you have chosen.
I am curious, what was the resolution of the video? |

Lisa, sorry I am late in commenting. I was out of town. I like the composition that illustrates the differences in the houses themselves and their landscaping. Possibly, the minor cropping suggested by Lou might improve the photo, but... |
