Ruth, another one of your beautiful scenes! The composition is nice with the crop you chose. The detail/texture in the lower right is interesting. You have captured the vapor nicely and then the trees on the left stand out. Very nicely done. |

Kieu-Hanh, I have never seen the cherry blossoms in D.C. and it is on my list. I really like your composition framing the Jefferson Memorial with the cherry tree and then more blossoms down the path leading to the Memorial. I agree that with a bit more color this version works well. Because you want the cherry blossoms to stand out, I would prefer color for this subject. I tried to edit a bit in Photoshop to bring out color by using an adjustment layer. I am not sure why my edit looks off with the perspective but you can see the color adjustment. Let me know what you think. Nice image and must be something to see each spring! |

Joan, what a lovely nature image! I believe this is an egret..please correct me if I am wrong. You have captured the eye of her and her care for her young. Very nice. |

Robert, great image! The story here is so lovely and the glint in the eyes is perfect. And it is so sharp. It is an amazing nature image. I was wondering how you like the Nikor Z 100-400 lens? I have been told to get that lens with an extender instead of the 150-600 lens. Do you ever use an extender with it? |

Andres, what a beautiful capture of this vineyard. We have areas near us in the foothills and I have never been able to get something this lovely. The light and shadows from the clouds on the vines are so beautiful. and the lines of grapevines lead my eye into the image, then up into the sky. I like your edited version of the sky very much...you have retained the clouds which cast the shadows and made it work well with the light. Nicely done. |

Adrian, well, I see! I have not seen any glacier walls so always assumed they would look white. I know from photographs that there is also blue and that is very apparent in your original image. The blue then converts to a gray in monochrome. I think it is better in these types of images to keep it realistic looking to reflect what you experienced. I am curious what others in our group think...this makes for a good discussion! |

Bob, no, I added an adjustment layer and increased the contrast. I haven't tried editing the color and then converting because I experimented with this one by just decreasing the saturation to mono and then doing adjustments. I usually edit a color version and then use silver efex pro to convert. |

Paul, very artistic image. The background looks monochrome yet the leaves and center of blossoms are green. I know there is a way to do this in the Nik collection. It adds interest and you have captured the beauty of the blossoms. Nice bokeh, too. |

Vincent, I like this abstract image. If you had not described what it is, I would never have known. You did a great job with symmetry and looking into the center gives me the impression I am moving into it. Nicely done. |

Paul, great image showing the motion in the background and the race car is so sharp. Your adjustments in black and white bring out the detail and tones. Wonderful image...not surprised the newspaper published it! |

Adrian, what an experience to see! The tails of the whales in the foreground give it scale and so we see the magnitude of the glacier. The glacier seems a bit gray to me so I attempted using the dodge tool...not sure it works well. Regardless, beautiful scene you have captured nicely. |

Bob, great light and shadows here along with texture. I like the composition you chose as well, leaving the space in the lower left. All the curves just lead one into the image at various places. Very nice. |

David, what a nice view it is from where you took this image. My eye wanders from the snow, then along the curve to the bench and to the great contrast in the sky. I agree with Paul...I want to go sit there with a very hot coffee! |
