Robert, you have captured the dreamy feeling of the fog and reflections of the lights in the water very well. And the seal breaking up the reflection of the one light really makes the image! Nicely done. |

Andres, I like the sun on the water and the position of the rower in the scene. My eye kept going to the sun reflection so I did a quick edit in photoshop using the burn tool on it at only 2% for highlights. Then I did the dodge tool with a large brush and only one click on the rower to lighten just a bit. This was just to see what it might look like. I find the image to be very peaceful and soothing. |

Ruth, this is a stunning image in every respect. How did it do in the competition? The black and white conversion do justice to the layers, light and textures of the scene. Very nicely done! |

Joan, This is a lovely scene for winter. I can feel the cold, crisp air and expect to see moose or a fox enter the image. I agree with Michael about the lack of color and that it might really make a nice monochrome image. |

Michael,
This is an interesting rendition of this Parisian scene. I find the slant of the buildings other than the Eiffel Tower to distract me but I do appreciate the artistic feel of the image. I have done a bit of ICM and it can be difficult and frustrating! But, I agree that it is fun to try different techniques! Interesting and fun image. |

Kieu-Hanh, A nice travel image. I like the contrast in the clouds. The canon is well positioned. I agree about removing the white fence on the right. The depth of field issue does not detract from the image for me. But, I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max and have learned that you can get depth of field by using the portrait mode. I don't use any apps on the phone for the camera but I know they are available. Nice scene. |

Michael, thank you for the suggestions. I did take the image into ACR and followed your steps. I couldn't make the first part of #3 work as it started to turn the orange color red. But here is what I did get and you are right...it makes it pop! I am sorry your laptop isn't working but this gave me the incentive to do it myself! Let me know if I captured what you had in mind. Thank you |

Thank you, Jerry. That is the Transamerica building in San Francisco. I am out on the pier looking back to the city. |

Diane, what a story this shows with the three looking at you with those eyes! They look so forlorn. You have captured the feeling here very well and the conversion to black and white is well done. |

Vincent, this is a nice minimalist image. I appreciate the composition with the person in the left upper third and taking a step. My only suggestion is to contrast the person from the background a bit, perhaps by darkening the background just a touch would work. |

Fran, what a moment you had with this encounter! You must have been quick thinking to get this image. The bison is staring right at you and you captured the eye very well. I like the conversion with the sepia tone as it does give a western feel. I use it for an antique look too. Great image. |

Paul, what a story this tells. I agree that the conversion to black and white works well and I like the blurred background affect. My only suggestion is that the fisherman doesn't seem to stand apart too much from the sea so I was thinking that isolating him and adding some contrast or lower the exposure would take care of that. Great image. |

What a beautiful place to visit and take photographs! I like the leading line of the path into the scene. I agree with the other comments that the leaves on the top are too dark although I like how they frame the subject. Perhaps crop a bit and bring out the shadow/detail there. Perhaps some contrast in the remainder would bring out more of the remainder of the scene. |

Very nice image, David. The contrast and light make the tractor and farmer stand apart from the field. The border gives it the field of an older photograph. I grew up in the SF Bay Area but my grandmother owned a cattle ranch in Livermore which is a bit east of there and we were there every weekend. I appreciate the rural subject here! |
