3 Sep 24 Comment Kieu-Hanh, I love your version! It gives the image an entirely different feeling. I like having the green part of the flower at the base and the butterfly is in a pleasing position. Thank you for the suggestion! Sep 29th
3 Sep 24 Comment Joan, great capture of this bird and your crop/edits bring it out nicely. I like the painterly effect of it and the blue hues. Sep 18th
3 Sep 24 Comment Robert, great composition! I like all leading lines and triangles that lead the eye right to the building. Did you add contrast to the sky to get the effect? Sep 18th
3 Sep 24 Comment Andres, very dramatic depiction of what is happening there with the trees. I agree that monochrome works very nicely for this image. I like how the tree really stands out and there are the layers of foreground, water and sky. Nice image. Sep 12th
3 Sep 24 Comment Kieu-Hanh, you have captured the sentiment of many host countries these days. I have been seeing this story on the news of late. It seems that part of the problem is the rental of properties for tourists which is driving up costs and shortages of housing for people living there. And, I have witnessed the "ugly American" a few times while traveling. I would think this is photojournalism but I am not familiar with the rules for competition. Sep 12th
3 Sep 24 Comment Michael, lovely image of the dandelion and nice bokeh. I like how the lower left "bud" is in focus as well and offset nicely by the blurred background. Congratulations on your published work! Well-deserved as your images are a wonderful capture of the places you visit in that they evoke the culture and feel of the people and countries. Sep 12th
3 Sep 24 Comment Ruth, this image is very peaceful! I am drawn to the subtle colors of the sky and the reflection of them in the lake. The composition is very nice with the trees leading the eye to the boats and lake that is framed nicely by the mountains and layered with the sky. Very nice image! Sep 12th
3 Sep 24 Reply Hi Ruth, thank you for your comments. I agree, Michael's edit really makes a difference....so much to learn! Sep 12th
3 Sep 24 Reply Michael, I appreciate your comments and suggested edits. It does make a big difference in making the butterfly "pop"! Thank you Sep 12th

39 Sep 24 Reply Thank you, Diane. I had fun putting it together and using the preset to get the antique look. Sep 21st
39 Sep 24 Comment Great capture of this loon! The black and white really brings out the detail in the wings. I also like the shadow in the water. I also appreciate your education about the loon's head...nature must have a good reason for that! Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Diane, welcome to the group! This is a very creative idea and the setup works well. I agree with others' comments that a bit more smoke around him and the feet will add to it. And, I also see two plant images as the original. Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Jerry, sorry to hear you had to live through this. You have captured the story well here with the fallen tree, yet I can see in the walkway and in the background that it is a neighborhood. Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Paul, nice street photo. It is difficult to capture these moments in a split second but you managed to do it. I also appreciate the reflections in the window in the background. You also caught some reflection in the man's sunglasses. The dog makes it for me...I can picture him racing down the walkway with the dog in charge! Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Vincent, what a beautiful portrait you have here. I like how you brought up the light around her eyes in the black and white version. I do see some glint there! I am sure this dancer would love a copy of this. Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Fran, I like the composition in your image. My eye goes to the plane leading me across the water to the mountain then back and up to the very dramatic sky. The reflections add to the even more interest. I think the black and white works very well with this image and brings out the textures in the shore and trees. Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Comment Thank you, Fran, for your comments. Sep 18th
39 Sep 24 Reply Thank you for your comments, Vincent. Sep 18th
