Andres, I agree with the others that your original image really tells the story of the airshow with the diagonal position and trails. I have enjoyed attempting photographs at the airshow during Fleet Week in San Francisco a few times and it is quite the challenge with the fast moving aircraft and crowds! But it is fun! |

Hi Robert, I know that taking images from a moving boat can be very challenging. This is an interesting image with the view through the arch. But I agree with Michael, I am having trouble viewing it as it is so small. Perhaps you can resize and submit again? |

Ruth, a beautiful and very artistic presentation of the Colorado columbines! I am not bothered at all by the slight soft focus of the one flower. I actually appreciate both the original and the horizontal version...each are very different, telling a different story of the same beautiful flower. Very nice! PS You didn't need to focus stack...beautiful! |

Kieu-Hanh, I like the vibrant colors, shapes and textures you have captured with this image. I know it was taken in August and are coleus leaves but it brings autumn to mind...my favorite season. Beautiful image. |

Michael, thank you for your comments. I assume the softness is from the glass. When I take a closer look, his eyes are in focus and that is generally where I focus when taking images of animals. |

Michael, You have hit your objective with this self portrait! I like the obscured effect and the message it tells. It really looks like a painting on canvas. I enjoyed reading your article very much. P.S. In looking at this self portrait and your bio photo....made me look at mine and maybe I need to update it (lol)! |

Thank you, Vincent. I have much to learn so I am not sure I can live up to Yannick Carrasco! I look forward to being part of this group and continuing on my photography journey. |

Great eye, David, in spotting this subject. I like how the various textures come out so well in the black and white version. I agree that the crop is a bit to tight and maybe see what it would look like to see more of the fender and pipe. |

Vincent, this image really draws me in with the lighting on the faces and arms of the male dancer. Their diagonal position then leads my eye into the rest of the frame. I also like the reflection of the dancer's shoes. Beautiful image in black and white. |

Jerry, very appealing scene. Your daughter has a beautiful yard and your composition and technique have captured it very well. It is very inviting. |

Paul, I agree that both images are very intriguing and well done! I see the issue with the seat but it looks like it has the texture of the wall even in the color version. That is interesting. The old window frame adds to this story. I like both versions. Very nice. |

Fran, what a great experience to photograph the bears. Wildlife is so challenging and rewarding to photograph. I agree with others that the black and white version bring out the eyes and face whereas the color version diverts the eye with all the water splash, etc. In the black and white version my eye keeps wanting to go to the top of the bear's head so I would suggest that you bring down the highlights there just a bit. The depth is wonderful...I feel like I can reach out and pet the bear! Great capture. |

Paul, thank you for your comments. I look forward to learning from all the members in this group. For editing, I use camera raw and Photoshop. I also have topaz denoise and the Nik collection. I usually use the silver efex pro in the Nik collection to convert to black and white but sometimes I use adjustment layers in Photoshop. I haven't really mastered that way at all! |
