Hi Kieu-Hanh, thank you for your comments. Yes, I took several photos at various angles and have many with the sunflowers facing me. I may end up using a few for this group in the future. It was a really nice experience having the field so open to us. |

Hello Joan, thank you for your nice comments! Yes, I took this at a farm in Yolo County that actually opened up for plein air artists and photographers. When I arrived, the greeting by the welcome volunteer was that we could go anywhere in the field. I couldn't believe it so I said, "you mean we can walk into the field?" And the response was yes, but to be careful. So, it was a lovely experience. |

Kieu-Hanh, what a great moment to capture..an artist at work. I appreciate your explanation of her technique. Although the subject fills the frame, I can see she is working on a beach. And she sports artwork through the tattoos. Very nice travel/street photography. |

Joan, this is a very nice capture of this bison. I can see the eye and I like the angle at which you took the photo. I agree with the others about the sky replacement. I think if you just added some contrast to the original sky, the clouds will become more apparent. Nice wildlife image. |

Robert, great image of this buck. You captured him in a nice pose and I can see the glint in his eye and the texture of his coat. The composition works very well. Very nice image. |

Michael, Another of your very nice travel images that tells a story. Colorful reflection against the hazy sky gives it pop. I agree with Andres in that it took me a few minutes to see the birds with the colors. Very nice. |

Andres, I really like the effect you captured here. The light on the trullo is beautiful. The effect of it appearing as though the background is black and white makes it really the subject on which to focus. Very creative. |

Ruth, Both of these images are very appealing. I appreciate the color version with the beautiful golden orange of the rocks against the ice. I also like how the light on the rock is very apparent in the color version. The monochrome is abstract as it is difficult to see what it is but I like the contrast and textures. How did it go in the camera club competition? |

Andres, thank you for your comments. Yes, focus stacking is a process to take images with different focus and then stack them. My camera will take the images automatically if I set it up. Sometimes I do it myself. And I use photoshop to edit and bring them together. With photoshop, I am finding that it does better with less images. I know there are other software options but I haven't gone that far into it. |

Ruth, thank you for your comments. I worked on trying to bring down the highlights on the pesky sunflower on the lower left and your suggestion will work better! |

Michael, Thank you for your comments. I had to chuckle because I really wanted that tree and walked quite a distance to get this image from this perspective. So, after reading your comments, I realized that I should have titled the photo something else! You have made me rethink my titles. Thank you for that and the nice comments on it. |

Thank you, Paul. I appreciate your comments and your edited versions. I see from your edits how much more potential there is for this image. I look forward to learning from this group. I did have my sensor cleaned! |

Vincent, what an effort to get this image. I like the perspective from which you took it and the reflection. I agree with others and I like Paul's edit. You may want to try to denoise with the ISO this high. I recently learned about taking a raw image into topaz denoise before any other edits and it does help quite a bit. |

Very creative idea to change fireworks into black and white and it works! It is amazing what we can do with our phones. I like the perspective of the shot as you get the neighborhood feel and the height of the fireworks. Interesting image and well done. |

David, what a great find "out of the corner of your eye." I agree that the conversion to black and white is really nice. I also like the bokeh in the foreground and distant background. Everything is in sharp focus and the raccoon's eyes tell a story! Very nice image. |

Thank you, David, for your comments and edit. I agree it needs more pop and your edit adding contrast works well. Vincent noticed lens/camera dust spots too. |
