Joan, what an interesting and fun project to go back through the slides and edit them. I like the subject of the allium field and the perspective of the image. For me, I would only crop a bit off the right to avoid having the tall one in the middle of the frame. I think when you darkened the frame, you brought color to that area and made the rest look monotone. I really liked your original slide. You captured the vastness of the crop and the great clouds in the sky. Great image. |

Michael, thank you! I will give it a try. This is the version I did before I saw your response. Let me know what you think. I ended up cropping off the right due to the ambient light issue but your method would take care of that. I will try your method. I am realizing that the Milky Way is quite a bit of editing technique as well as set up! Thanks again, Mary Ann |

Andres, great capture of what appears to be twins looking right at you! I agree with comments of others and Robert's edits do the trick. It is amazing now the tools available to us! I went on safari in 2020 and made it home in time for the shutdown...gave me lots of time to edit the photos! Your image has inspired me to share some here with this group. Very delightful and fun image. |

Hi Ruth, another of your very beautiful landscapes. I have never visited Death Valley either but I need to take a trip there. I like how you captured the photographer in red as it really shows the scale of the scene as well as provides a point of interest. I agree with Michael that you have done a nice job with foreground, mid and background in bringing out the color and the crop works very well. Very nice image. |

Robert, what a gorgeous scene! The color of the sky and reflection are just lovely. I agree that you have brought out the shadows quite a bit to see some of the detail of the shoreline and trees but the brightness of the reflection seems to overwhelm a bit. Michael makes a good suggestion. Just store your travel tripod in the trunk! Beautiful image and lovely place to have a home! |

Michael, I am loving these candid quick images you have that really tell the story of your trip to India! The crop here works well, the boy is in focus and my eye goes right into his beautiful eyes. I agree with Ruth 100%! We can only imagine what he is thinking. Great image. |

Michael, I really appreciate your comments, suggestions and your edit. I have been playing around with the image trying to bring out the color in the Milky Way. I only use Photoshop and camera raw which opens with a raw file. I took it back into camera raw and masked for the sky, then used a brush to try and bring out color. What technique did you use? Thank you, again! |

Cindy, great capture of this beautiful horse looking to the left of the frame. And the rim light highlights the horse so nicely. The detail is very nice, even the eyelashes! For my personal taste, I would prefer just a bit less contrast. Beautiful image. |

Cindy, what a lovely scene. I like that you flipped the image as it makes for a more powerful composition and leads the eye right into the frame and the beautiful clouds. I agree that a bit more contrast really brings out the clouds. Nice image. |

James, panning is quite the challenge and you have really done a nice job of it. I like that the race car is in focus with a blurred background and foreground. The wheels also have motion. Nicely done. |

Paul, great find with this interesting face. I agree that the color version shows the detail better and makes it more interesting. I also agree about cropping out the blown out portion.

Thank you, Lorna. I forgot about the transform tool! You are right, it does look much better with the vertical lines straightened out. |
