Robert, I have never been to Bryce Canyon but I can see the beauty of it in your photograph. I do agree with others that it is difficult to ascertain the main focal point of the image. I think that a different time of day or angle would help. |

Kieu-Hanh, I think you have given the viewer the sense of the true height of this clock tower. The columns below lead up to it and the architecture on both sides frame it nicely. I do find the angle in which the tower appears to be falling is a distraction for me personally. I am planning to look at Sharon Tennenbaum as Michael suggests since I struggle with perspective in architectural photographs. |

Hi Ruth, Autumn is my favorite season and I have enjoyed your images of the landscapes in Colorado during this season. This one is especially appealing to me with the way the light beams over the beautiful gold behind the run down cabin. Then there are the majestic mountains and clouds in the sky. It is a beautiful image and I have no suggestions for you. I prefer the original edited version. This is worth a frame and a wall! |

Michael, I really appreciate this image and it really lends itself to monochrome. The leading line of the road, the textures of the abandoned building with vines, and the contrast of the clouds are very pleasing. I agree with Ruth about the first version in that a bit more contrast added to the abandoned building with vines works well. I am also really drawn to the second image from a different angle as well. The contrast works very well in that one. Very nice images. And, I enjoyed reading the dialogue here and learning the history! |

David, this is a very nice panning image. The background is blurred indicating motion and the subject, both cyclist and bicycle are sharp. I like the colors of the cyclist and the background. I agree with Kieu-Hanh in that I usually attempt panning with faster moving subjects but you have managed with this speed! It is a very good shot! |

Hi Kieu-Hanh, Thank you for your comments. I did take out a road sign but didn't notice the picnic table! I appreciate your suggestion! |

Thank you, Ruth. Yes, I agree with Michael's suggestion! It would give it a better perspective to leave in some foreground and have a bit more sky. |

Michael, thank you for your comments and suggested edit. I do really like what you accomplished with the generative AI. I agree that adding more foreground and sky gives the image a better composition/perspective. I have to practice taking more time in the field! |

Chuck, what an interesting image. The detail in your hand is amazing and I like the perspective. Monochrome works very well here. I agree with Cindy that the background is distracting. Perhaps a tighter crop and then removing some of the objects. A very creative image. |

Paul, this owl posed for you! I like how you managed bokeh in the background and focused on the owl. It presents very well in monochrome. I have to agree that some detail in the head is missing. I am trying to expose for the highlights in my photos and then can lighten the dark areas in post processing so as not to lose detail. But you can see from this month's image, I failed! |

Lorna, nice work! The idea of flipping the image really adds to it and does draw the eye to the crewman. I have no suggestions for you. Very nice image. I have used the new generative AI to remove objects and many times it does a great job. I just use the lasso tool around the object and then write in remove. You might want to give it a try. |

Cindy, what a great image! It is amazing what we can do now with cell phone especially using raw. You have captured this nicely as I feel like I could walk right into the scene. The contrast is well done. Did you use any vignette? |

Cindy, thank you. I like your edit very much and have learned much here! I had used the highlight clipping alert in camera raw and thought I had taken down the highlights adequately but not so! And, I know the blown out areas lose information that cannot be regained. But you are right...not so much sky is needed as the story is on the beach. Thank you for taking the time to redo it! |

Thank you, Chuck, for your comments. I thought I had abated the blown out sky with the camera raw highlight clipping warning but it didn't work out on this one. |
