LuAnn, this is a beautiful still life macro image. It is very sharp, the colors are soothing and I love the wispy hairs! Very nice. |

Michael, what a great place to photograph....a great story here with this building....the tape on the window, all the stickers and the heart in Jerky! I do like your crop and LuAnn did a nice job in bringing out the colors even more. |

Ruth, what a great capture. It can be so difficult to get a good shot of wild life especially in motion and you have a captured this jumping kangaroo. I prefer leaving room on the left for the kangaroo to move into. I took your original into Photoshop and cropped the top and bottom only and then into camera raw and made "auto" adjustment with a bit of dehaze and vibrance adjustments. Let me know what you think. |

Hi Ruth, You really get out into nature and capture some amazing scenes. This was an editing challenge with the right side fairly blown out in the original but you have brought it back nicely. The sky seems a bit over-processed to me and I tried cropping it a bit to really focus on the power station. |

Kieu-Hanh, you have captured the beauty of this Catholic Church very well. The center aisle leads right into the frame to the alter. The reflections of the stained glass add interest and I really like the perspective of the image. My only minor suggestion is to take down the highlight on the right pew a bit as my eye tends to go there first. Very lovely image. Is this church in Washington, D.C.? |

Hi Joan, what a great adventure this was! Your crop is perfect and the angle of the image lead the eye right into the eyes of the dog. You captured a great expression and the image reflects the dogs concentration and determination. It is a very unique and very interesting image. Well done. |

Chuck, I agree with Cindy's suggestions and edit. I really like the angle in which you took the image and the sky is really nice without taking away from the building. I enjoyed reading about the history of it! |

Lorna, the texture of the wood and the flowing vines make this an interesting image. I agree that the branches could stand out more against the wood and I like James' edit. Nice image for black and white. |

Cindy, a great story told with this image. Lovely pieces to photograph and make a nice still life. I prefer the color version as the colors blend so well and it seems to show the light better. Another idea is to offset the vase and coffee grinder a bit instead of having them parallel so that there is more depth. Beautiful image. |

James, this is a wonderful image in that it has clarity, focus and great composition. I personally don't think the chair on the left is an issue since there is one on the right so it gives some balance. I like the angle in which you took the photo as the eye is led right into the center and the windows in the background are a very nice backdrop. Very nice image. |

Karl, I don't know much about competitions. I have just recently joined a camera club and have entered a few...lots to learn for me! I really like this image in that you have captured such an expression on the woman's face and an interaction with the little girl. All is in focus, the composition works for me and my only suggestion is to clone out the feet in the upper left. Nice "street photography"! I do agree that a title will be good to give the viewer a bit of the story. Nice image. |

Thank you, Cindy, for your comments and suggestions. I do have one with the hummingbird visible and played with that. You are right...looks much better with the head of the bird fully visible. |
