Kieu-Hanh, thank you for your comments. I appreciate your insight that the bowl is not full so the lack of freshness works! |

Thank you, Joan. I appreciate your comments. Yes, I live in Sacramento, CA. This was taken last February...we still had lemons then and we have a tree full again this year. So, I plan to recreate this with a fresh cut! |

Thanks Chuck. Yes, I think the color version turned out better but I agree the cut lemon needs some freshening up! |

Joan, Great capture. I like the framing of the bridge...you did capture this at the best moment. The reflection is very nice as well. You may want to clone out a little of the wear on the slanted cable but not all of it....it adds to view/bridge. Nice image. |

Michael, I really like this one as well. The people also seem more interested in the images of the gallery. |

Hi LuAnn, Another masterful abstract! And you have a new camera to play with. I think this is a lovely take on the original. I am curious as to why you turned it orange in color and added the frame around it within the image. It does make it very interesting, I am just curious. I have to agree with Michael that abstracts do not really lend themselves to much critique as it seems to be very subjective of the viewer. You are amassing quite a collection of abstracts....perhaps it is time for showing? |

Hi Ruth, another great landscape image! Nice depth of field with the beautiful layers of the aspen, the valley, the mountains and the dramatic sky. I do agree with Michael that the highlights in the center tree could be brought down a bit. This is a beautiful scene and you captured it (without a tripod, too!) Very nice! |

Hi Ruth, A great capture and apparently, you were thinking on your feet! I really enjoy photographing birds and I really appreciate this Butcher Bird and his feast. You captured the glint in the eye and I think flipping the image was a good choice as the prey is more apparent. My only suggestion would be to crop it so the bird is not in the center and take down the highlights on the right. I gave it a try so let me know what you think. |

Kieu-Hanh, The architecture in Washington, D.C. is great material for photographers and you have captured these marble columns very nicely. The curve of the columns and the wall on the left provide nice symmetry and the marble lends itself well to monochrome. My only suggestion is to consider adding a bit more contrast to bring out the marble tones. I did that and cropped a bit off the bottom. Let me know what you think. |

Hi Michael, I agree with LuAnn. I like this image very much as the motion is not too abstract and the colors work very well together. I had no idea this could be done with a cell phone. Does the app allow for long exposure and ICM? Very nice image. This is a wall hanger! |

Michael, Happy New Year to you too! Thank you for your comments. You and LuAnn both mentioned the dryness of the lemon so I will have to be more aware in the future or retake this. No, there was not intention with it! LuAnn mentioned a still life class so I may have to look into that. Thank you again for your comments are appreciated. |

Hi LuAnn, I really appreciate your comments! You and Michael have both mentioned the lemon and its dryness so I will have to be more aware of that. I have to tell you that I took this back in Feb 2022 when I was playing around with still life. Your comments have encouraged me to look into the still life class. |

Hi Chuck, this is a nice image that depicts all the various textures and tones. I like the wall in the background with the texture. I agree the cropped version works well. Nice image. |

Hi Cindy, this works very well in black and white but I agree it seems very busy. I think increasing the contrast helps but perhaps cropping some off the right would help focus on the main part of the cockpit. Not sure though. I would also like to see the original image. |

Karl, very nice shot showing the motion and yet the car is tack sharp. I don't have any suggestions as the sign on the left does not bother me as it indicates motion. Nice image. |

Hi Lorna, I think this works well in black and white. I took it into camera raw and increased the contrast just a bit as well as the brightness so as not to lose the morning light effect. Curious to see what you think. Nice street photography! Great capture of the interaction of the two men and the view. |

Hi James, I like this very much. It has interest and converts to black and white nicely. You did a good job bringing out some detail in the shadows. My only suggestion is that the doorway seems too bright. Perhaps brining down the highlights in the doorframe. |

Paul, I agree with James' comments and like his edits. Very interesting subject matter and works well in black and white with the contrast and textures. |

Thanks Chuck. In Group 3 I posted the color version of this and the consensus was that I needed to have a fresh cut on the lemon or freshen it up somehow. |
