3 Dec 22 Reply Thank you LuAnn for explaining! I see now...sometimes it takes me awhile! I really appreciate your comments. I have joined a local camera club but have not submitted anything for competition. I was thinking this one might be a good first try. Merry Christmas! Dec 19th
3 Dec 22 Comment Hi Joan, thank you for your comments. I responded to LuAnn about the flipping...I am not sure what that is meant to do with this image. Dec 17th
3 Dec 22 Reply Thank you, Ruth! Dec 17th
3 Dec 22 Reply Hi LuAnn, thank you for your comments. I am a bit confused about your comment regarding flipping the image. I did learn about that in the image evaluation material but in your edit, it does not appear to be flipped. I also need some clarification as to the benefit of it with this image. Thanks! Dec 17th
3 Dec 22 Comment Ruth, what a lovely image. I have not visited Arches National Park and now I need to go! You have captured the golden glow of light and I like the frame within a frame feel of it. I could walk right into it and want to see what is beyond the opening. Nice composition. Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Comment Ruth, how creative to use high key for this image. I haven't used high key at all so your image really intrigues me. You have really focused the attention on the bird. Just my personal preference, but I like to see the bird in the natural habitat as in your original. Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Comment LuAnn, Another great abstract image. I thought of the ocean when I saw this...a landscape with wild yellow flowers in the foreground. I like how you have discovered this genre and are enjoying it so much! Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Comment Michael, I like exploring old areas, too. There is much history there. I like the symmetry of this as well as how you brought out the colors and textures. The sky replacement works well too in not only getting rid of the trees but adds some interest. You achieved your goal of the vintage style and era. Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Comment Joan, I like this image! I think the vantage point is interesting and the blue color adds interest. The light and shadow as well as the lines/architecture also give interest. Did the judge comment at all on what his/her thinking was? I recently joined a local camera club but have not submitted anything yet so just curious. Nice image! Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Reply Hi Michael, thank you so much for your comments. I focused on the moon. There was still enough light there to use the automatic focus too. I tend to shoot on the dark side as I figure I can pull up the shadows. It was great to see the image turn out as it was just beautiful seeing it. Dec 5th
3 Dec 22 Reply Thank you, Stephen, for your comments. I didn't know the name! Great to have you visit Group 3. Dec 5th

50 Dec 22 Comment Paul, this image works well in monochrome and color! I like the focus of the spider against the texture of the flower. The composition is nice following the rule of thirds. The depth of field works well in focusing the interest on the spider. I also think that Cindy's edit is nice as well. Nice capture! Dec 19th
50 Dec 22 Comment Cindy, I really like the light and shadow in this image as well as the textures. There is a story here as well....the dock is so old that the boat is moored to the tree! I love Ireland and hope to get back to visit in 2023. Dec 19th
50 Dec 22 Reply Thank you for your comments, Chuck. Dec 19th
50 Dec 22 Comment Chuck, I am also drawn to open fields and ranches! I like the textures and the depth of field. I do agree with Cindy about a focal point of interest...perhaps if you took the image from a different angle that would focus on one of the fences. Dec 17th
50 Dec 22 Reply Thank you, Cindy. I like your edit...good suggestion! Dec 17th
