3 May 22 Reply Thank you, Ruth. I really like your edit. It makes a big difference for the better! May 16th
3 May 22 Reply Thank you, John, for your comments. I will have to check out the blending modes and see if I can make an improvement. May 16th
3 May 22 Reply Hi LuAnn, can you upload your edited version? I understand from the discussion that it was not due to lens distortion but I would like to see your edits. I, too, felt something was a bit off but could not place it until I read your comment. Knowing San Francisco and the Bay Area, it is probably the actual street/concrete that is off kilter! May 16th
3 May 22 Reply I understand now my difficulty with this! I went out on a foggy morning looking for the deer and these two playful ones are too close to the background and the background is not the best. I have others of lone deer with a different background that I can attempt get the feeling I want. Thank you! May 10th
3 May 22 Comment Kieu-Hahn, This image is a wonderful depiction of spring in D.C. I lived in D.C. for a short time but was not there for the cherry blossoms and I will have to go see them! I like how the blossoms frame the top of the image and then you have the monument and beautiful sky in the background. The boats just add to the serenity of it. Very nice beautiful image. May 10th
3 May 22 Comment Ruth, I really like how you framed the catamaran. The colors are vibrant and the perspective draws the eye right to the subject. I wanted to see what it would look like to crop just a bit off the right side and in the foreground. What do you think? I like the square crop that Oliver posted is nice but I feel like having a bit more beach in the foreground draws one into the frame. Very beautiful coastal image. May 10th
3 May 22 Comment LuAnn, What a lovely find with the green leaf growing out of the petal. The lighting works very well to enhance the flower. The texture in the petals is nice. I agree with a bit more crop on the top and a square crop would work nicely. This would print well on metal, I think. Beautiful image. May 10th
3 May 22 Comment Hi John, What a creative and whimsical idea. I like street photography very much and the colors in this are great. I like Michael's comments about the lines, triangles, diagonals. And, I see what LuAnn is referencing. I did feel something was a bit off but couldn't place it until I read her comment. I am curious to see her edit with it. Overall, a very fun and vibrant street photograph! May 10th
3 May 22 Comment Michael, I really like the sharpness of the heron. You have captured the detail and texture of the feathers, and the eye. The branches frame the subject and I like the yellow blossoms complimenting the heron's eye and beak. Very nice image. May 10th
3 May 22 Reply LuAnn, thank you for your comments and suggestions. I do like the black and white version you did but I think it loses the fog atmosphere. I did a black and white version for Michael.
It is still dark and grainy but I wanted the feeling of the fog. Let me know what you think. I really only use the silver efex pro in the nik collection. I will have to experiment with the color efex pro and the other options!

3 May 22 Reply Hi Michael, thank you for your comments. I tried this black and white version. It is pretty grainy but I wanted to keep the foggy atmosphere in it. What do you think? May 10th

50 May 22 Reply It is a wonderful image. If I get back to Chicago I will have to check out the zoo. May 16th
50 May 22 Comment Lorna, thank you for your comments and suggestions. I do have a tendency to leave the images on the dark side and I need to work on that! May 16th
50 May 22 Reply Karl, thank you for your comments and suggestions. I will have to give it a try. May 16th
50 May 22 Reply Thank you Cindy for your comments. I do like your version. I tend to take images darker and then never seem to bring it up enough in post processing. I need to work on that. May 16th
50 May 22 Comment Lorna, your edits have done a nice job of converting this image to monochrome. The contrast and exposure are well done. I do like the color version as well. Both work! It is a very serene setting and I want to go take a seat on that bench and get lost in garden! May 11th
50 May 22 Comment Paul, old weathered wooden windows with shutters make great photographs. I like the texture in the wood, the contrast and the reflection of the clouds in the window. I like both the monochrome and color image. I like the color of the shutters and the bit of green in the window. The cloud reflection seems more apparent in the color version to me. Nice image. 50 May 22 Comment Karl, I like the pose of the gorillas and the expression on their faces. The image is very sharp and you have captured a great moment. I did not notice the wires in the background. My only thought is that the image seemed a bit bright to me and the brightness of the branches seemed to take away from the subject. I took down the highlights and moved the exposure down a bit. Let me know what you think. Where was this taken? May 11th
50 May 22 Comment Cindy, this is a lovely monochrome image of a dogwood blossom. And, the bee just makes it. The depth of field, sharpness of the bee, and the texture of the petals just make this an amazing shot. You have given me something to think about in turning some color flower images into monochrome. Very nice! May 11th
50 May 22 Comment Chuck, I really like the old boots. You have captured the wear and texture of them and the sepia tone. My only suggestion would be to place them on a wooden step or floor or old wood planks to enhance the feeling of them. Very nice sharp image. May 10th
