LuAnn, thank you for your comments and suggestions. I thought about removing the people in the foreground and then let it go. You did a nice job of deleting them. |

Stephen, yes, this is a fairly iconic image. The Painted Ladies border on a city block park....no cemetery there! |

Ruth, you met your goal to create an abstract that focuses on lines and textures. Very creative to do all the editing you describe. It is very surreal and works well in monochrome. Very well done. |

Lisa, this is very creative! I really like the monochrome you chose for this. It suits the scene. You are right...too bad the couple didn't hold hands but I think it works very well as is. Very nice image. |

Kieu-Hanh, This is a lovely water lily. We have them here in Sacramento at one of our parks with a huge pond. The photographers come out in full force to take images during the summer when they bloom! This image shows the detail of the flower and leaves. You might want to crop a bit off the right side so the bloom is not centered and the beautiful leaf on the left still complements it and gives it context. Or you can fill the frame with the bloom by cropping it really tight. I do like Michael's version as well. Very pretty image. |

Michael, what a story behind this image...very sad. I like how you brought out all the color of the sky and water. I also like your use of negative space in the foreground. The juxtaposition of the environment and what went on there really tells a story. I think you could bring down the white in the three buildings as my eye tends to go there first. Thank you for sharing this image and story. |

LuAnn, I really like the bokeh in this photograph and the impressionism preset. The angle is really nice too. For me, the cap of the mushroom seems just a bit too bright for the scene. Maybe bring down the highlights on it just a touch. The image is very pleasing and serene. |

Paul, I think this scene is very interesting. I like the use of negative space and the walkway leading the eye out to light at the end. I took the color version into silver efex pro and got some contrast in the sky and water. I also cropped it a bit. I think you can make this work in monochrome and I like the color version as well. Let me know what you think |

Lorna, this is a great scene with the leading lines, reflections and all the detail of the buildings and bicycles. I like both the color and monochrome versions. I agree with comments re the sky. You can either bring down the brightness or use the sky replacement. Cindy did a nice job with the sky replacement feature. Nice shot! |

Karl, what a great sporting event to photograph. You have captured the movement of the skaters nicely. I would suggest adding some contrast so that the skaters are darker and the ice is not quite so bright. I like your color version too. |

Cindy, this is a great scene for monochrome. All the lines and textures make it very interesting. And I like how you framed it with the opening to the cargo hold. |

Chuck, I really like your re-edited version. The scene reminds me of the Sacramento Delta region which I visit often. The layers in your image with the reflection of the birds and mountains are striking. Very nicely done. |
