Lisa,
This is a great image with the motion, the lines, and the yellow and blue colors on both escalators. I do like the edit that Isaac did in straightening it a bit. Otherwise I found myself looking from side to side. I think his edit helped with that. This is a great scene and tells the story of travel. Very nice. |

Thank you, Kieu-Hanh. I always struggle with how much to crop and I agree that the branches do not add to the photo. |

Michael,
Yes, I, too, struggle with cropping! I do like your edits. You have really focused on the robin. I would only crop it down a bit tighter on the top to get rid of the white spot there (or tone it down). Thank you for your suggestions. |

Kieu-Hanh,
This image is so colorful and really has the feel of autumn. I like the closeup and the sharpness of it. It does look like a painting! Very nice depiction of the season. |

Ruth,
This is a beautiful image of the flamingoes in the wild! I really like the reflections of them and the layering from the foreground, the water, the sandbar, etc. My preference is to leave all that in as I feel it gives more context to where you saw the flamingoes. Beautiful image! |

Randolph,
Very beautiful image of the orchid! I like the depth of field which blurs the background nicely and highlights the orchid. I agree about the steam in the background. You may want to try some of the other methods available in photoshop with it. Very nice image! |

Michael,
This photograph is very creative and tells the story of global warming very well. I like how you have taken three photographs and made a composite as well as changed the features of the original photographs dramatically. I typically prefer more realistic images but I find myself drawn to this one because it tells the story so well. |

Michael, I am very much interested in the discussion you have suggested about when it is appropriate to alter an image. We started this discussion in September 2020 in the dialogue under the photo I submitted that month and I would very much like to discuss further. |

Hi LuAnn. I agree with Michael's comments. I have trouble adjusting my photos when I use the sky replacement in Photoshop. I wanted to see if I could use some of Michael's suggestions on your photo. I just used the sliders in the dialogue box and didn't do anything else. Let me know what you think. Your photograph is very inviting into the old Church. The angle in which you took invites one to go right up the stairs and try the door! The trees make a beautiful frame. |

Kerry, thank you for your thoughts. I might have to go back and do some work on the original in color! |

Lorna, thank you for your comments. I like the idea of adding some contrast or texture to the clouds and some detail in the rocks. |

Chuck, this is a very creative and interesting photograph. I like how the ice cubes look like they are swirling in the glass. The tones and texture of the subject lend itself to black and white. You can see the lines around the glass and the textures in cloth on the table. I do like this in black and white but I also think the color refractions on the glass in the originals are nice too. |

Cindy, you have captured the spirit of this gentleman in your photo. I can feel his personality by the look he is giving. You captured the glint in his eyes which adds to the feeling of a joyful person. This is a very nice image as it shows his age (wisdom!) and his personality. I think making it into black and white highlights these qualities. Very nice. |

Lorna,
I like both your original and your edited version of this image. The perspective in which you took the photo really highlights the lines and the light in the original. I think you have two very nice images here. In the edited version, you might want to take down the brightness around the outer edges a bit. Very nice images. |

Kerry, I am new to the this group too! Welcome to you. I am a bit confused as I am looking at a photo of the Christopher James Band and it looks like two men playing music. The other comments above don't seem to fit the image I am seeing. I think you have captured the feel of the music being played outdoors. I would suggest straightening it slightly and cropping it a bit tighter. I am also leaning more towards the color version of the image as it draws the eye right to the musicians. Nice image of an outdoor musical event. |

Paul, Beautiful images of the flowers. The vertical composition works well with the cascading flowers and lines of the leaves in the background. Personally, I like the darker image that really highlights the flowers. |
