Hi LuAnn
What would you have suggested for competition? I am curious. Thank you |

Michael,
Very creative and colorful photograph. The cardinal is sharp and there is the glint in the eye. I also like the angle. The bird is looking at the viewer with curiosity. The background looks like a painting but is subtle so the cardinal really stands out. On what is the bird perched? It looks like a cactus but the blue color throws me. Very nice creative shot. |

Ruth, this is a great travel photo. I like all the cultural aspects to it that tell a story of where you are. I like how the water moves the eye through the photo to the red roofs on the left. The sky is nice too with the blue and clouds. My only thought is that it does seem a bit oversaturated with the color of the river and the reeds. |

Hi Michael.
Yes, I agree. LuAnn's edit is really nice. When I first started photographing this, I was trying to get the reflection in the glass behind it. Unfortunately, those did not turn out so well and I just kept photographing from different angles as the light moved. It was all done on a whim when I saw the light....a little planning is in order! Thanks for your feedback. Mary Ann |

Yes, I like your edits! It does make the flowers stand out. Did you use the darken shadows feature in Photoshop to darken the background? |
