I love everything about this image, Peggy. Though the texture is dominant, it is the placement of the trees and animals that captured my attention. I like that the 'action' is on the right side of the frame while the left side is quiet and peaceful. You blended the pieces in masterfully, especially the 'foreground' and the tree tops which are magical. I don't have much to suggest. Perhaps the bird and squirrel are a bit too large but then minimizing them would lessen the impact, so I'm not sure. |

A masterful composition, Kirsti, especially considering the creative use of a mildew stain! It certainly is dreamy and gives me a tranquil feeling. I like the swan placements and the use of blending between the landscape and mildew image. The opacity of the forest drops quite suddenly from the middle to the edges of the frame and that initially made me wonder. But overall, it certainly is an exhibition-worthy composite. |

Such a fun composition! I am particularly impressed that you cutout the figures which must have taken some work. Your use of shadowing nicely blended them in. I like the way the face of the girl on the left is facing the moving car. The motion filter really works here as the car definitely looks like it is moving! You might consider rotating the cigarette lady to more face the car as well, instead of just being a bystander.
Very well done! |

I enjoy the positioning and structure that you created with this scene. It makes for a fascinating story and brings us back to a nostalgic and simpler time. I find it very peaceful and pleasing with the hue of the patio tile dominating the image.
It's true, blending is tricky and I am far from a master at it. In this scene, I might add back some saturation to the horse / carriage on the left as the grey distinguishes it from the tile background color. Similarly, if you wanted to add a 'sky', you could lighten the top of the frame. On a side note, I have been experimenting with the new Harmonize filter in Photoshop that helps adjust hue/tone and lighting between images. You might find it handy in the future. Thank you for sharing your creative blending efforts! |

Such a playful image, Brad, but also well-executed. The blending of the ground into the rotated sky works very well. It took me a second to realize how you manipulated the sky into the 'bottle' and I can see how the shapes motivated you. The flower is very much the cherry on top and gives a thoughtful focus point.
I'm curious how it would look with less desaturation on the sky since the rest of the colors are strong. Overall, a very enjoyable composite. |
