Thanks Peggy! Yes, I see what you mean about the dark corner and that is something for me to work on. Maybe I can add another image to the composite there that would fit better. Thanks again. --Matt |

Thanks Kirsti for your thoughtful feedback. I wanted to show how it looked before the shell texture. I obviously would have softened the image lines but this gives you an idea. As you can tell, I used the texture with a mask to fill in a lot of the spaces to bring it together. Thanks again! --Matt |

Ah Bruce, this is such a compelling story image, classic and yet dramatic. Your blend of the character and the hair train came out terrific. It's a creative mix that really works with the painterly effect and aging techniques.
I noticed the line between the sky and the building on the left side is a bit skewed and not sure you did that intentionally (but w/o so on the right). The figurine's skin tone is quite pale, again perhaps intentionally. Overall, I really love it. |

Hi Brad, What a terrific concept! The up and down elements of the water really give the viewer a lot to consider as we've all scene one side or another.
As others suggested, the people sizing could be adjusted, but they do add a sense of realism that I appreciate. My favorite part of the image is the depth that you added as you processed the lower cavern and how you 'fixed' the sky on the top to create such grandiosity. |

Hi Maria, Oh my, this is quite a scene you have created! It reminds me of something out of a Greek mythology movie where a creature has escaped from a temple. The figure is incredible and the mask so well suits the scene. My favorite element is the crack texture in the stairs and building that you added, so terrific!
I like the sky but it seems a bit artificial which is odd to say in a scene like this one. Maybe it's the transition from the smooth sides to the top.
Overall, you've created a fantasy masterpiece! |

Hi Alan, You are extremely adept at incorporating these walking figures in your doorways, and this one is no exception. The shadows, perspective and placement are perfect.
At first, I wasn't sure if you were going for somewhat of a mirror effect given the desaturation on the far side of the door. I might have kept a bit more of the original color by the stairs for more of a continuum between the front and back.
As an image, the frames within frames are very compelling and enhance the intrigue. Very well done.

Hi Peggy, I really appreciate the color selections that you bring to the group, so pleasing. This image invokes a very positive emotion. It's ironic you are using snow to add those sparks of spring light. I might have placed the flower head a bit higher in the image, but otherwise, it's a joyous creation. |

Hi Kirsti, I enjoyed reading how your image came into being, and it's a fascinating one. Thanks for showing the color version, though the B&W is more pleasing to my eye. I really like the placement and how you sized the forms relative to the background. Your stars work just fine for me.
I might have toned down the opacity of the background (or darkened it) within the 'ghosts' to emphasize them a bit more. Either way, it's a real pleasure to view. |
