A terrific composition, Debbie with the falls nicely on the right third and framed by the large rock there. Also, you included the pool at the bottom which leads the viewer up into the image. The exposure looks spot on. I do not see what shutter speed you used, but perhaps a bit slower. Otherwise, a very pleasing photo. |

Black and white is a great choice here, Peter, as the sky compliments the image nicely. It has been many years since I have been to White Sands and I am glad to hear it has become a National Park. You brought out the textures very well and your light/shadow patterns are compelling. Emphasizing the foreground with the angled lines was a superb choice leading the eye around to the center the image. Well done! |

Ha! I am glad to hear your story of playing in the snow, Ian. You captured a terrific "winter" scene with the path leading through the trees. The exposure is good which isn't always easy with snow and you have great dustings on the tree branches. Perhaps move the path a bit to one side with a bit of an angle, but overall, very nice and I'm glad you had fun! |

The layers are striking here, Janos. You also pulled out nice contrast between the shadows and highlights to give tremendous dimension from front to back. The sky is perfect as it also brings its own set of layering. I could follow the lines, nooks and crannies all day. The subdued colors from yellow to blue are quite pleasing as well. I do not have any suggestions other than to print it big. I am sure it was quite the experience being there, but I feel you brought some of that to us. Thank you! |

The reflection makes the image, Dave, as it is just gorgeous. The smooth water and grand sky are terrific with the trees creating a nice frame on the sides.
I do wonder if the grandeur of the mountains is somewhat subdued as is often the case in panos taken with wide-angle lenses. You may be ideologically opposed to this, but a bit of transform warping in Photoshop would correct that. Overall, a wonderful image! |

It is a terrific photo, Sherry. The light on the sail of the boat is incredible as is that in the mountains in the background. The composition with the nestled houses and sloping mountains is compelling. As Janos suggested, the boat might look better a bit off to one side. I might also smooth or crop the water in the foreground. Nicely done! |
