60 Mar 21 Comment Thanks Richard. I like that. Mar 28th
60 Mar 21 Comment Hi all. I am attaching, not the original photo, but one almost identical to it. It was of this amazing glass bowl set on a glass table against a glass wall in the house of one of my husband's client's house in Pebble Beach. I think this might even be a better image of the bowl but it's still a shallow d/f. I took this 3 or 4 years ago and wish I had had the foresight to take one with a deeper d/f. Anyway I found this image looking back in archives and started playing with it. Had it blacked out behind and my visiting daughter suggested turning it upside down since it seemed so jelly fish like. So for fun that's what I did. Mar 25th
60 Mar 21 Comment Jane, beautiful. I love the starburst on the middle rock. Great job, I wouldn't change a thing. Is this in Oregon? Mar 21st
60 Mar 21 Comment Wow such a beautiful church. That is a difficult image to capture without a tripod. I have tried a mono pod and still have movement laterally. Perhaps that caused this to be a little soft. Personal thing for sure, but, I do like my buildings super sharp. You did a great job of getting as much into to image as possible w/o blown out windows and deep blacks in the shadows. I think you were successful with the noise issue. I agree the blue reflection in the floor is distracting. Mar 21st
60 Mar 21 Comment Great capture of the mother feeding the baby! Nice setting, pretty sharp, nice color and the birds are not centered. I might burn the bottom edge and dodge the top to add a sense of depth maybe. That's it. Nice. Mar 21st
60 Mar 21 Comment I like the vertical image. I am able to concentrate on one scene and try to figure it out. I too like all the lines/waves. Nice tonal quality about it. I even see a face in the upper left corner. A very fun image. Mar 21st
60 Mar 21 Comment Richard this reminds me of home in the summer...fog fog and cows! Nice capture of the lone tree and a cow on either side. I like the simple composition, the hawk adds to the story...everyone just kind of hanging out till the sun comes out. I think the only thing I would change is to remove what is either a dust spot or a bird's nest in the upper left side of the tree. My eye gets distracted to that spot. Mar 21st
60 Mar 21 Comment Thank you for your comments Damon. I agree I would, if I could reshoot it with a deeper depth of field. Mar 14th

83 Mar 21 Comment Beautiful refection Jose. As Lance has shown you have so many options with this. the reflection is so crystal clear and you got a wonderful sky! I think it would be fun to see how this printed. Mar 16th
83 Mar 21 Comment Lance Taos is a very special place. This is a beautiful take of the cemetery. I think I prefer the original version. As I was viewing back and forth between the two I found my eye being distracted on the cropped version to the far left vertical items which might be dodged a little and on the right to the left part of another cross in front of the dark tombstone. Picky, perhaps but that's where my eye was going. The original image had my eye being drawn front to back from the two crosses in the foreground to the bell in the background. Also the hill in the back right leads my eye toward that bell and balances the weight of the tall stakes or whatever they are on the left. I could possibly be way over thinking this but that's my take. Beautiful image subject. Mar 16th
83 Mar 21 Comment Cecilia this is beautifully composed. I love the slope on the right and pathway leading out to the back of the scene.
They are beautiful trees. Great vision. It is a little bright for me though. If you could go back at the Golden Hour might be spectacular! you might even play with having someone on the path for scale just for fun.

83 Mar 21 Comment My son would kill for that experience. He dreams of driving on the N. Ring. Preferably something really fast! I like the smoke from the front tire on the first car. Adds to the drama. Great catch of the action. Mar 16th
83 Mar 21 Comment Debasish I love your composition and I can just feel the freezing damp to your bones cold it always is in SF, having lived there all my life. Very contemplative image which I enjoy. My first thought was whether or not I wanted to see any kind of horizon, or just a hint of one. I think I do as I was finding myself looking for one more than at the whole image. I prefer, personally, your second version and the softness of dodging the rocks that Lance did. It leads the eye off into wherever your imagination take you. Great shot. BTW where are you standing? 83 Mar 21 Reply Ah, thanks Lance. Have never heard the term default used with iso settings. 100 makes sense. This was a mirrorless camera on a trip with others....no tripod used throughout. Mar 15th
83 Mar 21 Reply Thank you Dirk. That sky has been bothering me as well. I was trying to think of a way to soften it somehow. Mar 15th
83 Mar 21 Reply Thanks Jose. Mar 14th
83 Mar 21 Reply Thank you Lance. I am not sure what you mean by default ISO.
