29 Apr 18 Comment I like the image. And, I agree changes made by Karen and Judy. I'd like to see it lightened a bit. Looks almost as if your brothers legs were cut off. The "wet rocks" filter made for an interesting interpretation. Lots of neat possibilities for this. Apr 20th
29 Apr 18 Comment I think this is a nice image. And, I agree with the others about the cropping. nesting time with these birds is a great time of year. Composition is handled well. Nice timing with the arrival of the two birds at the same time.

29 Apr 18 Comment This has become quite popular here also. One of the women in our club has hitched up with a guru and has been doing a lot of it. Although it doesn't grab me as something I want to do, it is fun to look at. I think your "butterfly" is well done and clever. Colors are good and the balance on both sides is good. Have fun. 29 Apr 18 Comment OK. I feel awed giving some advise to someone with all the initials after her name, but here goes. I've been almost exclusively playing with macro this winter (it's been so nice here in the northeast) and have learned a couple of this from the advice I've received. 1. I find that a tripod is a must. At advancing age I can't hold the camera and macro lens handheld for close up work. 2. Use a lens opening that's going to give a greater depth of field than f/2.8. Try f/11 or f.16. 3. Try learning focus stacking. It's not difficult and if you have PS cs-4 or later it's already there and doesn't cost any more. If not there are reasonably priced programs available. That's it from the know-it-all. Apr 20th
29 Apr 18 Comment It's great to experiment with images. I do not think that in this case the painting adds a lot to the image. I think there is a story being told. The gulls and man sitting on the jetty are interesting. You know they're just waiting for a handout. Might try it in B&W and see how you like it. Apr 20th
29 Apr 18 Comment Nice shot. The post processing I think made it even better. I like the contrast and colors you brought out. You really brought out most of everything the camera captured. Apr 20th
29 Apr 18 Comment Thanks Bob and Karen. Froze our butts getting this. Snowed yesterday, 4/7. Snowing today on Nantucket. Oh well.
Karen, not a criticism, but the bridge actually has a bow in the center and goes downhill quite a bit on the right. What can I say. New England contractors. The mate to this is east on the canal about 4 miles. At the moment it has 2 lanes of the 4 shut until the end of May for major repairs. Regular spring project it seems. The one in the picture is the one we go over and it is scheduled for repair in the fall. Anything to make the rip longer.
