Nice leading lines, nice detail on the rocks, and the long exposure's effect on the water and clouds is wonderful. I know when you are shooting with a group it is hard to get the composition just as you'd like, but I think if you had shot from lower angle and gotten the bottom chain coming out of the corner too it would have been more restful to the eye. Not sure what was over on the right but perhaps using a wider focal length could have brought in more from right and not had the sun and end of structure so centered. I like Richard's darkening of the sky adding emotion to a beautiful shot |

I often shoot some natural landing spot in same light and conditions as the bird with feeder and composite it in |

Oh…and I totally agree with Emmy re the tiny bit of feeder. How about just a tad more of it? Or get rid of it, extend the canvas and composite in a branch or such? |

Beautiful catch light and sharp detail on face. It looks as if the tail feathers are a bit blown out by the strobe. As others have said, I have little to no experience with use of strobes…you are our teacher! I like the contrast of the sharp with the motion blur though my own preference (only mine) is to get sharpness in the wings even at the expense of noise |

Hmm…nice job with the colors and the idea is fun but the general blurriness of the leaves even in the center makes my eye want to look away. I like the idea of using it and the original as overlay or texture |

Really nice job with the Milky Way sharpness. Did you get a MSM tracker? I really like mine though in the Summer I can't seem to stay awake long enough to wait for the MW to show and we've had clouds, clouds and more clouds ever since! Wonderful cabin and I like the framing from the tree. I wish you had stood a bit more left to show more of the right side of the MW and less of the cabin. I wonder about the lighting of the cabin…it brings out the detail nicely but the mind asks where is that light coming from out in the middle of nowhere? Maybe decrease the exposure a bit on it and the foreground> Compositing a light in to the shot is an idea but the direction still wouldn't make sense. I'm kind of thinking out loud because I often struggle with adding light to night scenes. Beautiful spot and wonderful job with the sky |
