Thanks so much Dianne. Good luck with your moveâ⬦such hard work. Yes, it was taken from my kayak in the lake I love to swim in in a small town on the Oregon Coast. My 400 mm is pretty heavy but manageable with a high shutter speed. The background is a texture. The osprey and branch are as they were |

The background is gorgeous and I'm glad you explained how you did it and it contrasts beautifully with the yellow. Exposure and detail are spot on and your wife is clearly an artist as well as the ikebana is gorgeous. My only suggestions are about cropping. To me it is just a tad too tight on top and both sides. I want the ikebana to have some breathing roo. It makes me feel a tad anxious to have it so crowded. Also, you chose to center the yellow flower which usually would work well but here, I think, the lack of symmetry in the container being closer to the edge on right than on the left is distracting to my eye. I find myself wanting to feel peaceful looking at the ikebana but the cropping choices instead make me feel a bit on edge |

What does IMHO mean? Thanks for your kind words and suggestions. I don't particularly like square crops and I don't want to cut off the branch but I totally agree with what you said. I think square is the best option |
