Another option. I cut and pasted the "Puget" from a copy and cropped tight but not quite so tight.
I do like this version of yours better than the one you originally posted |

I like all about your adjustments to the shot except the crop. I like them on the third line vertically better. Thanks |

Talk about in your face!!!Well done and I'm so glad you spoke to what you were wanting to accomplish. You will be a great replacement for your friend. His face keeps drawing me back into the story and the photo is filled with emotion. Good use of dof with background identifiable but not distracting and the shutter speed is perfect to capture the action without blurring. re the crop...I do think the knee on right is just a tad tight. How about making the space between knee and edge of frame the same as between his right hand and frame? He still would be the main attraction but it wouldn't draw the eye out of the right side of the frame? |

Potent. Something about his disheveledness contrasting to the cleanness and newly painted stylish surroundings that is profound. I totally agree that you have found your photographic calling. He's ed almost in a corner leaving space in front that makes me wonder what will be next for him. I have no suggestions...it is perfect to my eye |

I love the color contrast between the boat's red and the aqua tinted sky and water. Thanks so much for explaining how you lit the boat and the foreground. There is a sweet feeling of serenity here and the angle of the boat's prow leading you into the Milky Way is thrilling. Well done. My only suggestion is there is the tiniest bit of haloing where the prow meets the sky...well worth fixing I think. |
