Thanks Emmy. Amazing what a variety of moods this shot can elicit with some tweaks. Yours is beautiful and feels more uplifting than the quiet peacefulness that my original conveys to me. And right now in the world some uplifting feels spot on! |

Thanks Diane. I like that this version keeps the original sense of quiet and peacefulness. Thanks |

I'm just beginning to take the Image evaluation course and recognizing I'm stronger left brain than right, but being aware of that bias helps me lead with my right...so what I notice first is the feeling rather than the technical imperfections. It feels exciting, somewhat scary, and dramatic. I love it that the rider is looking down at what is happening and takes my eye with him. I think the slightly soft focus works since the left horse's eye is in focus as are the tackling cowboy's legs. I wish we saw the rest of the tail. The cow is so in the shadows it is hard to see. I might bring up the shadows on his face. I wish we could see the tackler's face but it works for me that we can't. I like the crop that includes the background but wonder re adding just a tad bit of blur in PS |

I love it that we all see this so differently! I love this shot. The colors and gloominess, the canoe in the perfect place. I think it would be well worth putting this on your computer so you could clone out the weirdness left sky edge. I wouldn't crop up from the bottom cause the pretty red leaves there point you right to the canoe. The branches and the lack of the whole curve don't bother me at all. SO glad you had your phone |

I can see why it has beckoned to you for so long. What a beauty. I really like your choice of b and w and the reflection absolutely makes the shot. Thanks to Damon sharing his epiphany too. I love the shot and have a couple of picky questions/suggestions...there are a couple of kind of weird blurry areas on both sides of tree just above the bulb on tree and smaller pond. I'm not sure what they are from but my eye went to them before anything else in the photo. The ripples to viewer's left of the reflected tree are confusing...what is making them? I'm guessing the lily pads may be why you cropped where you did on left of frame. The tree is so close to the center, my eyes would wish it to be exactly in the center and it not be quite such a tall vertical frame. So glad you shared this beauty with us |

I do use LR and I do often stack images but not with moving subjects |

Fascinating info re LR and Mac Photos. The focus, colors, lighting, detail, whites, composition are all perfect in the LR version. On the other hand, I kind of think "ho hum. Another good flower image". I dont feel delighted, curious, inspired by it. I'm not sure if there is any way to improve the photo. It is perfect, but exciting, not so much |

First, the question. I edit in adobe color space and size for export in PS. In Ps how do i change to SRGB for export so I can see it before saving? Re your wonderful questions, for me also the focus is the kayakers but they aren't in sharp focus so, in my mind, I split the subject between the fog and the kayakers. I like your thought re the story being outside of the frame. Lots to ponder which I love |

I will share some thoughts and a question in a few minutes but wanted to post the latest version before I shut down the computer |

I absolutely love the conversation and pondering back and forth and the exercise. For me the subject is the mystery/magic of paddling into the fog. I will boost the reed exposure next time I'm on my computer. I confess i forgot that suggestion |

Thanks. I'll ponder your ideas but for the meanwhile, this is Sutton Lake in Florence and the ocean is West fo here so flipping it would make the sun rise on the wrong side! |
