Ian, this is really quite serene and I do like the choice of Topaz filters for this scene. It almost looks surreal and that works for this subject. I really like the depth of field here as well. Nicely executed. |

Sophie, I really like this image. Nicely executed. There is something about this image that draws you in and makes you want to stay awhile. I don't know if you ever play with filters, but this might be fun with a grunge filter of some kind, which would even increase the aging subjects of the scene. |

Jay, This image really caught my eye. The color, the subject matter and your crop works well. Street photography has always been a challenge for me and I think you've done a great job capturing the essence of this 'chalk art festival'. Well done.

Henriette, this is simply a wonderful image. I think the water droplets make this image great and powerful. For me, the focal point is the ducks eye. There seems to be just the right amount of focus throughout the image. I love wood ducks and really think this shot is a winner. Great job! |

This is a very nice image Sanford. The clouds are so dramatic I could not stop looking them. They are almost surreal and I love that about this image. For me, the clouds are the focal point. You could have even removed some of the foreground, but the image works very well as it is. Nicely shot and executed. |

This is a wonderful image Trey. I love learning about this mushroom and you've done a real nice job capturing it and processing it. It is dramatic and almost looks abstract. The leading lines and composition work very well. Well done. |

Thank you very much Lance for your reply and great explanation. I am relatively new to PSA so I'm not familiar with all the groups and lingo used. I have already learned much from you explanation. So, thank you for taking the time and effort to help me understand and learn. Best regards. |

Good day to you Lance. Thank you for taking the time to send me a message. I am not sure I understand the intent of your message. Are you saying that cellphone images are not appropriate for a "General" photography group. I actually shoot both cellphone and DSLR images. Are there some guidelines or rules that I have not read? I am also not familiar with the "DD-Creative" groups.
I would appreciate clarification if you have the time. Thank you. |

Thank you Jay. I think one reason I like this image so well is that I actually grew those pumpkins a few years back and I've not had any luck growing them since. Terrible Squash Bugs get the best of me!! Thanks for your kind comments.

Thank you Henriette. I has become one of my October images. There is a certain feel to it that only monochrome can accomplish. I very much appreciate you comments. |

Thank you Trey. You make a good point about the circular flow as I had not really realized how important that can be and seems to be here.

Thank you Ian. At first look at the color image I generally would not have considered it for conversion to B&W. Somehow it just worked and was a surprise to me. I recall using one of the Film Noir filter in Nix, which is very grainy.
