Thanks Debbie. But, you didn't comment on how stinking cute she is. Come on. Cough it up. ;) |

She looks about the same. I was away for her Bday this year, so didn't get a current show, but she looks pretty indistinguishable to me.
"Domestic Animals?" Truth be told, I'm not sufficiently familiar with the various competition options (other than PSA) to say where else I could enter this image. What do you know about that scene? |

Hey, if that's your statement then so be it. What do I know anyway?
And, I like the grass the way it is personally. It's not clipped, as far as I can see, and so has some detail. But, it doesn't detract from where my eye goes, which is to the sun. In fact, the meandering line of the edge of the grass gets me to the sun, which was the way I perceived the composition. But, I'm a simple guy that way and gravitate toward simple, somewhat brutal compositions. Just my thoughts... |

Good eye for shapes Dean. Those sweeping lines are killer compositional elements. I appreciate you putting the roundel where you did, which isn't at any of the conventional points (in fact, you had to know what those conventional points were to get this shot), so kudos. I agree with you entirely that filling the frame with car parts and details is a great way to shoot cars. Having said that, I've seen some full-vehicle shots that are jaw dropping. Anyway, we have options.

OK, well then, crop give it another shot. I'll post version B too. This is an iterative process. We're all working at it. Know what I mean?

Good on you for pushing the skills envelope Debbie. Although I've been pushed into it recently, I have to say that I'm still pretty intimidated by Ps, so good for you for not backing down.
Uh, so were you going for the Orton effect?
And, BTW, it sounds like you were trying to get some HDR kind of effect. No? When doing real estate/ architecture, I'll exposure bracket (I think you can do that too) then combine them right in LrC.
Or, you can do an. over and an under exposure, and then paint in the light you like. To be honest, I think you pretty much get the same effect.
Anyway, you've obviously achieved your goals of creamy, white, flowing water, so good on you. What are your thoughts on the composition as a whole? |

Hi Rita. I like this quite a lot. Great job with exposure. Focus works all the way around. Colors are killer!
You mention the grass in the foreground, but I dig it. I'm not as big a fan of the bridge, but that's the way it was. What division do you think you'd enter this in? |
