Hi Jane, I love the look of the foam. To me the rocks on the right look, I don't know, more interesting than the rocks in the middle. This is something I will definitely have to try. Is this ocean or river? |

I always am learning something from our group. I have never encounter ICM. My experience has been un-ICM (wink, wink). I love the colors and the exposure. |

Thanks for the input, Dianne. I tried both manual and auto. I was trying to blur out around the Santa. |

Hi Richard. you really captured the moment. the reflection pool in the foreground really adds to the scene IMHO. One thing I have learned over the last few years, getting back into shooting is PATIENCE! Thanks for the reminder. |

Wow Emmy! That's beautiful. I wouldn't begin to know how to make suggestions to improve on that. I agree with Damon, the pano really shows the grandeur. but I don't know about getting rid of the jetty and the bouy. For someone like me, that has only seen the Tetons once on the summer 30 years ago the jetty and bouy really give prospective. As you said, you were trying to show peacefulness, you really nailed it. |

BTW Damon, I tried Topaz AI on the second image and no discernable difference. |

I really like the silhouettes. They really popped out at me when first opening the image. I agree with you, I like that the fisherman in the foreground is not completely black. It does give a since of reality to the image. I also like the tack sharpness of the both fishermen and the different shades of blue. Maybe add a little "water and mountain" to the left. In what mode were you shooting (M, A, S, or P in Nikonize)? |

Happy New Year to you Damon,
Thanks for taking the time to do such a good analysis. I learn so much from this discussion group. Topaz is a new toy for me. I was thinking (until you brought it up) that sharper is always better, so not only did I not take a detailed before and after look at the sharpening, I didn't save the before and after. Also I didn't understand that I was bypassing all the auto stuff but now that I think about your comment that makes sense. I'm still enough of a newbie that I try to force myself to use M mode whenever possible. The only time, recently, that I have been using A mode is when I have to capture an image right away; not time to set up. I also appreciate your suggestion on cropping. I attaching another image I took that is a slightly different angle with better cropping and not run through Topaz. |
