24 Mar 21 Reply Albert I agree that its difficult getting the viewer's attention on the tree with the beauty of Bryce Canyon in the background. I tried your suggestion to pair the weathered tree with the young tree. I like how the young and the weathered tree complement each other. However I still think Bryce Canyon draws the viewers eyes at it is now framed by the trees. Mar 15th
24 Mar 21 Reply Steve thanks for the feedback. I agree that the review photo did not have a clear subject. Taking photos with more thought put into creating better foregrounds that lead the viewer into the photo in my landscape photos is something I am working on. To me the weathered tree is the main subject that I was trying to convey in the photo. I edited the review photo to make the tree the main subject by cropping out the other distracting elements in the foreground. I also flipped the photo back to the original orientation as recommended by Jim. Let me know what you think of the updated photo. Mar 13th
24 Mar 21 Reply I love the updated version. I would like to hear from the other group members if they like your photo. Mar 12th
24 Mar 21 Reply I actually like how this photo looks in either orientation. They both have their own unique leading lines to draw the viewer into the scene. Mar 6th
24 Mar 21 Comment John great photo of Mammoth Hot Springs. One of my favorite spots in Yellowstone. I like your decision to go with the B&W version. The B&W version highlights the textures and shapes that are the true stars in this photo. Post-processing work is perfect. Mar 6th
24 Mar 21 Comment Sam like how you removed the dancers on the right side and pasted the horizontally flipped dancers from the left side. It creates symmetry to the photo and puts the emphasis on the center job. I like you vision for this photo. Mar 6th
24 Mar 21 Comment Steve great job capturing the Parakeet feeding. I like how you cropped the photo and the placement of the bird. The bird's colors and the details of the feathers are perfect. Great job with you post-processing work. Mar 6th
24 Mar 21 Comment Albert great job getting your camera steady on a moving boat to capture such sharp details of the bird. I like the wonderful colors in the bird's feathers that you brought out in the finish photo. My only suggestion would be to add a little more space to the left side of the photo to increase the viewer's interest in what the bird is looking at. Mar 6th
24 Mar 21 Comment Jim you "Got it right." I love the wonderful colors you brought out in the flower. I also like your decision to go with a very dark background. The bright green colors in the original photo are very distracting. The tight crop is spot on, as the leading lines of the pedals make the flower the attention of the photo. My only suggestion would the to remove the tiny spot of green in the upper left corner, where the pedals of the flower make a "V" shape. A great flower photo. Mar 6th

97 Mar 21 Reply Nice editing changes. The details in the white head feathers is much better. I also think your work on the large shadow area is amazing. Great photo. Mar 8th
97 Mar 21 Reply Steve I like the way you toned down the blue tint in the photo. The photo was taken in a canyon mid morning. Direct sunlight had not yet entered the canyon. I am not sure how I got the blue tint in the photo as the other pictures I took in the canyon that morning did not have this blue tint. Mar 7th
97 Mar 21 Reply Jeffrey thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a try. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Reply Stan thanks for the suggestion on how to remove the blue tint. It bothered me too but I was unsure how to remove it. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Sophia great photo of an Eagle catching a fish. I love how you captured their eyes. The eagle looks like it is intently concentrating on what it is doing, and the fish looks like "what just happened to me." My only suggestion would be to decrease the Exposure on the eagle's white feathers on its head to try and bring out some of the details in the feathers. Great photo. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Matthias great job capturing the contrast between the grey rocks, the white ice, and the blue flowing water. Wonderful details, color variations, and textures. I also, like that you used a long shutter speed to capture the motion of the flowing water. Perfect job using the bottom left-corner leading edge between the grey rocks and the flowing water to lead the viewer's eyes into the ice canyon. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Stan I like how you captured the motion of the water running off the bird. It adds a vibrant feel to the photo. My only suggestion would be to decrease the Exposure setting to reduce the bright highlights on the bird as they are distracting, see attached edits. Overall a great photo to display for your friends to admire. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Andy great job getting a nice sharp image of the Ground-tyrant. I like the tight crop that you did on the photo and the offset of the bird to give more space on the left side. As this is the direction the bird is looking. My only suggestion is to crop out the bright highlights on the left side of the photo, see attached edits. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Jeffrey I think you did a great bringing the details out in the Lemur. Especially in the face and hands. The way you cropped the photo is perfect. I like that you gave a little extra space to the right side of the photo, which is the direction that the Lemur is looking. Also, I do not find the background branches you left in the photo distracting as the placement of the tree trunk draws my eyes directly to the Lemur. Great photo. Mar 6th
97 Mar 21 Comment Steve congratulations on capturing such and elusive bird. I like how you included the habitat in the image. My only suggest is to off-set the Arabian Partridge slightly to give more space to what the bird is looking at rather than directly in the center of the photo, see attached edits. Otherwise a great photo. Mar 6th
