Henry, you did a great job with the conversion into monochrome. Indeed the lines are more powerful as in the colored picture. The contrast are awesome. Big picture! |

Sheldon, this is an outstanding photo. A big portrait of two people who are awaiting their performance in full concentration. Very good light. I like the colored picture as well. |

Murphy, I like this photo. The persons and even the dogs are well silhouetted! I also agree with the wide format. I think it is a little disturbing, that the bridge is to low - too much heaven above. But watching your original tells me why; the fence will destroy the story. Would it help, if you are drawing the upper left corner towards the woman? You will smaller the sky then and keep the format. |

Butch, cranes like it cold! Here in Europe they are starting for winter to Skandinavia, Sweden / Finland. Temperatures are similar to Kanada.
I also know the masses of cranes while resting. Holding a strait distance to humans of about 200 yards. The resting place in Germany when they are coming back from the North is Darss in the Baltic sea. In October you will see about 60.000 individuals flying to there night rest.
This picture reminds me to the great show. I think, you have pictured the landscape well and the two flying cranes are coming to search teir place. Great job! |

Roy, you have had a right moment! Shots like this are awesome! I see, you have shot it in the distance - so the crop bring out all the dust. Is it the reason, why the contrasts are missing? No chance to reduce dust? Would bring the object more in the foreground. |

Ernoe, this is a really great picture! The nest inmidst of all the leaves that seems like a castle. But I'm with Roy, the second glance will catch the chick. I know, you're in international contests, too. So my suggestion is to decide, what do you want to show. If it is the chick with the parent bird, take the crop of Roy. Really a wonderful catch! Not very often ... |

Christ, I fully agree Roys suggestion, also the crop. You cannot rebuild the left claw of the owl, so the crop is the better decision. A very special take, respect! |
