Victor, I do not know your story, if you wouldn't have explained it. just looking at the picture, the scene is dark and threatening - a typical lost-place-picture. You put it in the right light: You took away the green (the color of hope). This gives a kind of sadness. The fram gives the feeling of the spy - watching with a distance. Very good picture idea! |

The dominant green overlays the beauty of the flower; the white cannot neutralize that. In sepia the green loses its power and the white comes into its own. Add to that the sharpness - beautiful picture, Allen! |

Thank you, Jack! To be honestly: I stamped a little bit on the photo, so I can't use it in nature division. Sending it in PID color, there was no chance, so I tried it in b/w.
The shady grey comes from the water, so in fact, there is not a real background. I'm not so experienced in trimming photos. Mostly I use them as they are, only using the tools in RAW. I would like to see, how a "professional" would handle that photo.
BTW, the picture gained 3 acceptances in 3 different salons - only b/w. |
