Keith,
Thanks for your feedback. The white edging was something I apparently missed in post-processing. I went back to the unadjusted raw file and the white edging was not there.
I will need to go back to see if I can fix that. Good catch! |

What an adorable little girl who appears to be really having a great time! How can that face not make you smile?
I do agree with the other comments regarding the distractions in the background. One approach to mitigate that issue would have been to shoot this at a wide aperture to blur the background. |

This really is a beautiful shot. I like how you were able to capture the eagle taking off in flight!
I do think that this image could benefit from being cropped by eliminating some sky to bring the eagle in closer, and to accentuate the detail in the eagle's feathers. |

Overall I like how this image exudes a sense of clam and peacefulness. I too, like how you captured the post with the reflection in the water.
But I have to agree with Laurie that this image could benefit from being cropped to eliminate some of the sky. One option would be to crop this in a panorama format (16X9) which will add some additional depth and dimension to this shot. See my version of this shot posted below. |

Andrew, this is a beautiful and peaceful landscape shot. I especially like how you used a 16x9 format as it tends to accentuate the beauty of this farmland.
I too like how you positioned the tractor in this shot and how the dust cloud provides a sense of motion.
Composition, exposure, contrast and saturation are perfect. |

Laurie,
Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated!
Nikon offers the ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter that screws onto the filter mount of the lens. In order digitize 35MM slides and negatives you need to use Nikon's 60MM Micro Nikkor F2.8 Lens, and an external light source.
This allows you to produce raw images with the exact dimensions of a full frame 35MM sensor.
Using this adapter with that lens I am able to produce 45MP raw images from slides that can be uploaded into a post-processing program where you have full control to make any required adjustments. The D850 can also digitize negatives which then creates the positive final images but only in JPEG.
Attached is this shot with the crop you suggested. Let me know what you think! |
