Personally I find replacing background in an image with quite a few intricate shapes very time consuming and at times a little frustrating. |

Syed,
You have a nice story telling image here. The play of light and shade, so well captured by you makes this image. Your focus on the weaver's face in full concentration is precise. I see good details in the loom and like the position of the weaver hands. Good composition. |

Nice sports action image. The yellow and blue colors of the boat stand out against the river water. The trim and angle of the boat gives a good feeling of high speed. I am o.k. with the shoreline as seen in the image as it gives a sense of the location.
I find the image size too small to clearly see the details. I agree with Darcy that leaving a little more space specially in the front of the boat may enhance the presentation. |

I was in Kiev in the summer of 2018 and was indeed fascinated by the orthodox churches in the city and in the Lavra monastery with their golden domes. on the trip down the Dnieper river from Kiev to Odessa I had an opportunity to see few more churches with similar domes. The equestrian statue (see image) you mention is also very impressive.
I like the way you have darkened the sky to make the golden domes stand out to make a striking impression.
Around the periphery of the main dome and to a little extent on some smaller ones I notice a somewhat blurred outline, perhaps not precisely adjusted in post processing.

You noticed it well. the shadow does look like a musician engrossed in playing a violin. The shadow here indeed is the center point. |

Thanks for your feedback. Yes another version by cropping the image, giving more prominence to the shopkeeper, would be interesting. Anyway it is the full display of antiquities that caught my attention. |

Greg,
Nice action capture of a horse show jump over a fence. At first I found your crop a bit too tight, however reading the image title I feel it was necessary for you to eliminate all elements such as the fence and some background elements that do not go well with the title. In your final result it does appear the horse is taking off. Good job in cloning the background.
In my opinion the blur created in order to eliminate the (jump) fence catches unnecessary attention away from the subject.
In this image you had the goal of elimination whereas in my this month's image I included as much as I could!! |

I am a great admirer of candid portraits and think you have done a great job capturing the mood, the pose and above all the shadow of the model cast on the wall. I see good sharpness and details in the entire image. The image reminds of a still from a mystery movie.
I think monochrome conversion will suite this image as well. |

Darcy,
I think you have a nicely captured image of a lonely swan moving around leisurely in the lake. I see good details in the feathers and the pattern made in the water catches my eye. Not seeing your original it is difficult to comment on the post processing. There is good tonal range in the image and I tend to agree that the monochrome version probably has more impact .
Personally I would crop the image a little more from the top and bottom to emphasize more on the main subject here. |

Xiao,
Thanks for your feed back. It is just a candid image of the shopkeeper who was so occupied that he didn't notice me at all and so I had the time to walk around and to compose. |
