I think you have captured a very fine image of this blossom in good sharpness and with good details. I like the pattern formed by repetition of various elements here. The colors are blending well too.
Did you shoot like that or crop the top and bottom as seen here? I like it as the asymmetrical presentation as it draws more attention to the image. |

This is a very impressive journalistic image and I can imagine the importance it has to you. I understand you had very little time to record the scene. The young boys with automatic assault weapons make a strong impact. I like the background and the general landscape included in the frame.
Not knowing the time of the day and the conditions in which the image was taken, I find the image a bit on the flat side. I have selectively adjusted the brightness of the boys, particularly their weapons to draw more attention on the main subject here. |

Thanks for your feedback. I did he cropping to put more emphasis on the main element that here is the woman lighting the candle. I agree with you that the original has more of an atmosphere. |

Bill,
I think you have captured the image from a good perspective, nicely positioning the various elements in the frame. The mist of falling water adds drama to the image.
I agree a slower shutter will provide a smoother flow in the water but that depends upon what you had in mind while capturing the image. Personally I would selectively increase the contrast a little more on the right side of the image.
A couple of years back in late April we were at the Yellow Stone Park and found it closed due to weather conditions so you must have shot this image towards the end of spring.

Greg,
You have a nice action image here well exposed, sharp and with good details. The monochrome conversion suits the scene. I find very good tonal range & DOF in the image and
like the facial expressions of the person right in front.
You may consider removing the part of the person seen on the left side of the image. |

Greg,
Good of you to put it all in B & W here. In my messages to the group, I do ask the group members to be guided by the the DD guidelines provided on the website. A detailed description does help to understand the image better and give constructive feedback. We are all here to learn from each other and although usually we make our best effort to produce and submit the image, it still helps to get comments from viewer's point of view as long as these are not subjective. |
