Pauline, most of the image is sharp. I agree with the critique group--the turtle's head is a bit soft, probably because it opened its mouth just as you took the shot. |

Pauline, First of all, I'm happy for you to make it to vacation at all, much less Hawaii! I'm looking forward to traveling again, not sure when.
Great capture of this sea turtle! Your position and patience allowed you to catch the decisive moment. The high-key background reinforces the idea of a brilliantly lit beach in a tropical location. |

I think your treatments of the fog and sky are well done; fog is hard to work with but you accentuated it well. I wonder if an even more dramatic sky, particularly in the right half, would help.
I made a version of your image with less exposure and some added texture to the sky; also increased the saturation of the orange tree a bit. FWIW. |

It's a great memory and your framing of the falls with the tree suggests the excitement of coming out of the woods to reveal your first view of this beautiful site. Unfortunately, the autofocus on your camera picked up the framing tree and foreground trees as the objects to focus on, so the interior of the image comes across as soft. |
