Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
36 Oct 20 Comment I love the vibrant colors and the rocks in the water. Good job with the polarizer. I wonder what it would look like if you cropped a little off of the right amd maybe up to the halfway point of the rocks in the bottom foreground. A beautiful fall scene, well done!! Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment I have a photo just like this one (with different people)! We took a castle tour in Ireland a few years ago and this was one we stopped at. I like that you boosted the colors and darkened the sky. Ireland is green and lush and this represents it very well. I have seen Larry's suggestion of the long shutter put to use and as long as the people are moving around, it will work. Beautiful photo, good luck!! Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment Obvious leading lines draw the eye, there is a lot to study in this photo. The signs don't bother me, you expect to see them in an area like this. On my screen, everything looks very sharp. Have you thought about making this B&W? Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment Beautiful image in color as well as the black and white. For me, the cropping makes the photo unique. I'll chime in that I also need to stop and get out of my car when I see something striking like this. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment Lovely photo, so many layers and colors. The Smokies are beautiful. I might also like to see a little more detail in the lower right. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment Stunning image and you should absolutely enter it in competitions!! I may have asked you this before, but where in Florida do you live? Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Reply Thank you, I like the cropped version as well. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Reply Thank you! I have been spared the dreaded Covid, for this round anyway. I took your advice and downloaded the 30 day trial of NIX and used SilverEffex. That program is amazing!! I paid attention to my histogram and added a few of your other suggestions including darkening the sky. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Reply Thank you Bill! Once the face was pointed out to me, now that is all I see when I look at the photo! I did increase the sharpening a bit. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Reply Thank you Arne, Greg is feeling back to normal. This image was not cropped at all, so there is no more sky to be had. I did crop slightly on the bottom and sides. Not having much knowledge about dodging and burning, I took a crash course on it over the past few days. I will add using luminosity masks to the list. Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Comment Well ... here is my attempt at incorporating everyone's ideas. Thoughts? Oct 20th
36 Oct 20 Reply Thank you for the kind words about Greg, he is doing well and actually on his way to a bird hunting trip with his childhood friends! This leaves me with several days to work on my photos undisturbed. You said that you posted my photo with a crop, but I can't see it. Can you post it again? Oct 15th
