I appreciate everyone's opinions and willingness to help.
However photos are subjective art and I personally do not like the texture results and I especially do not think the eyes look natural now in your edit.

This is either full frame or almost full frame. I have learned a great deal since 2017 when we were in S Africa so I would take it differently now -- like not cutting off the ear.
I think I prefer not to change the background lighting because then I could not enter it in a PSA competition.

I find the maroon background distracting. I wish it were light blue.
