I love all lemurs so much I am sad it is not realistic for us to go back to Madagascar. The trip getting there is far more that 24 hours each way; the Madagascar Customs intake time was 3 hours and they kept telling me they lost our passports and application forms which they finally "found" after 2 hours. Then the terrain in the rain-forsts was really treacherous with mud more than 1 ft deep and also needing to walk across very slippery stones. Using a tripod was impossible. They also had a very difficult time accommodating us with appropriate food; we are strict vegetarians. Mostly rice and lentils was all we got for two weeks. So now we donate to the Duke (university) Lemur Center and have visited there once in N Carolina.
I will put up more lemur photos in the coming months.

they looked red to me. But I cannot say if that was caused by the light.

The eyes were not edited at all.
I prefer seeing the entire lemur but thank you for the closeup.

I admire the pose of the bird that you got.
The focus is sharp on the middle of the back and out of focus on the head and eye. You will need a higher F number to get more DOF. |

very pretty bird. But I prefer closeups so I can see more details of the bird. |

I agree with you. Just reduce your exposure and it will be great.

I think your picture is excellent. However I agree with Stanley that I would use a fast shutter speed.
I will look on the map for this location. I would like to see it myself. But I do not think at my age I would be able to stand -15C. |

Our squirrels here are not cute like this.
Stanley is correct about the blue tint. I wonder what caused that? I would have used LR or camera Raw and adjusted the color temperature instead of the calibration.
If this were a PSA competition, then cloning out anything at all would be forbidden and it would need to be entered in color pictoral.

I am envious that you have beautiful birds nearby you. The subject is beautiful and tells a story. Unfortunately the shadow on the wing is a big flaw. Fill-in flash would fix that. I have tried post processing to fix shadows and it never looks good.
You can also use high speed sync with the flash so you can stop the blur of the moving wings.
