Lovely image of a street guitarist. I ask myself who is he playing to? Cubans, tourists, no one? I agree with the other comments above. I too find it distracting to see the angle behind him. Is he a tad over sharpened or overworked, with some fringing? |

What to say - wow. Wonderful street photography. If everything was sharp and neat and tidy (eg no backpack) it wouldn't look like real street photography. I agree with Ed that the main character is the sax player, but I think without the two women he wouldn't be so interesting and the dog is the cherry on the cake! Love it.

As a Brit this is the sort of image that is pure New York for me, and I love it. Am sure it wouldn't be as interesting in colour. But it is a shame about the sharpness. Sadly with street photography we so often don't get the framing we want or the sharpness we want - but it still gives good memories. |

Welcome Arnab. I like your second image, but I prefer your first image - I am always drawn to images which show isolation. In this image isolation through deep concentration on the task in hand which I find very pleasing to look at. I suppose we all have different tastes. Great story, wonderful light and detail and the shadows are perfectly placed. |

I don't know what PP is! Very Italian - hands, faces all adding to the conversation. Definitely prefer it cropped and in black and white. |

I love the concentration on the faces of the two young girls and think it a delightful image telling a great story. I agree with the suggestions of Victor in dealing with the background figures and brightening the faces of the girls, without changing the dynamic of the image.. |

Thank you all for your comments. All helpful for me, and giving me options. For me it's about both old Detroit and the three bikers - who for me are quintessentially American. I think I prefer Victor's to mine - thank you. Mo |
