18 Nov 20 Comment I think this is really effective and quite whimsical. I don't mind the green area, but you might consider softening or blurring down the edge of the square in the middle that the border was not so obvious and blended with your sharp image in the middle. Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Reply I don't have a problem with your comments at all. Creative work can be the most subjective of all so it all boils down to what we like and don't like. For me this kind of work is quite new so, for me, its all about trying different techniques Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Comment I've never used Topaz filters so I don't know if you can turn down the intensity of the effect. I do find the effect to be nice at the bottom half of the image, with the plate and jam juxtaposed over the top, but I find the top part of the image really distracting with the white edges and patches around the foliage. I agree that the plate appears to be floating, but that doesn't bother me as it adds to the whimsy of the image Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Comment I find this is an interesting abstract full of lines and shapes that keep my eye wandering around the image and that the technique you have applied gives it balance. Personally I'd like to see more of that duck egg blue as it matches so nicely with the yellow. Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Comment I would also love to see the original here, and I love what you have achieved. I like the wavy patterns and shapes that make up the rim, which I can see are well contained in the frame, and also that the brightest area is in the centre, keeping my interest to this part. The choice of a pure black background makes the structure really stand out without any distractions. Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Comment I really like the pencil/ drawing effect you have created here which plays with the mind since the colors are not as we seen them in real life. I do agree with the idea of changing the sky colors, and the rest of the image works on more primary and simple colors (pinks, blues, greens and reds) and the sky is a tertiary color (grey) which seems to conflict with the original idea. 18 Nov 20 Reply Oh, and I still can't see the bird, but it does look a little tribal to me Nov 14th
18 Nov 20 Comment This is a nice mix of textured surface and artistic presence, that has resulted in something that appears quite geometric even though we register it as organic - thus I see something that adds a bit of mystery. You might consider doing a little work on your original (darkening or blending a seperate layer) to bring out some of the texture in the wood before adding the colored texture layer. Nov 14th
