I think this is really well done, and it has a very 'soulful' feel to it. I agree that the side walls do feel like a mural, and it's nice that they are reflected, but not exact with more space and detail on the right hand side. The walls lead my eye in to the space in between. I'm a little disappointed that I can't really work out what is in the middle (unless I look at the original) but it does add to my curiosity. Its a nice way to add several elements to the image to tell a bigger story. |

I agree with the feel of an African mask, but it does feel a little creepy. It's an interesting concept to flip in the middle. I certainly think it's an interesting technique and works well with such a neutral background, but as a subject, this one doesn't work for me

this has a real air of mystery with an obvious shadow, well contained in the frame against a plain but textured background. My first thought was that this would be nice as a monochrome as it has a film noir feel (mystery, suggestion) but I tried it and it didn't work. I think this is well spotted and nicely captured. |

this is a great capture with a bland background and base that is nicely blurred. I can see some bold primary colors making up the skaters. Personally I'm not sure about the totally blurred third skater and I feel I'm missing something by not seeing that person's bright colors. I agree that the red lights at the top help to tell as story about the rink and contains them in the picture. |

I think this is a lovely image, and very reminiscent of a Monet painting. I do think the colors and textures are subtle enough not to be distracting but obvious enough to give it an artistic feel. I think the colors are wonderful and the panorama format gives it the sense of vastness. I have to agree with the red towel, only because it's quite bold, but I think I'm just being a bit petty. |
