38 Aug 23 Reply Kurtis, thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad you like this picture. Aug 25th
38 Aug 23 Reply Hi Lance, thank you for visiting our group and especially for sharing your thoughts about this image. I enjoy converting images to B&W but, for some reason, do not do it on a regular basis. Your words are very encouraging, think I will explore B&W more. Again, thank you! Aug 19th
38 Aug 23 Comment Art, I like the colors in your image and also seeing the contrast between the smooth water and soft sand. You also did a good job of capturing most of the girl, very nice. Aug 16th
38 Aug 23 Comment Marge, this is a nice picture with sharp details of the bird. Must admit I do agree with Art about cropping it so the bird stands out more. Well done! Aug 16th
38 Aug 23 Comment Regine, I like your picture and can see why you were drawn to it. The different textures, suble colors, sheen on the surface from rain (?) and lines dividing it into small sections all make for a nice composition. I think any way this is flipped will look great and the brighter colors help to add more contrast. Great job! Aug 13th
38 Aug 23 Comment Marge, thank you for your kind thoughts, I'm glad you like this image. I have found that occasionally rain puddles have very interesting reflections and fun to play around with in post processing! Aug 13th
38 Aug 23 Reply Art, I like how you adding a sepia tone and more of a grunge look to this image. After all, the reflection of a building in a rain puddle should look a little muddy. I should have thought about that! And, by brightening it more does give it a weathered look. Thanks for your thoughts. Aug 13th
38 Aug 23 Comment Kurtis, This is a terrific abstract picture. In my opinion it took a lot of skill and patience to capture this scene, I love it! Aug 13th

46 Aug 23 Comment Good idea, Lisa, I will mask the raw file in ACR and see what I can do with it. Will let you know. I have another question, what are your thoughts about cropping? Have the subject in the upper left corner, a rectangle crop or is either acceptable? Thank you! Sep 22nd
46 Aug 23 Comment Thank you, Lisa, occasionally I prefer the subject in the upper left corner if the background is particularly colorful or interesting or if I want the scene to lead into or compliment something else when hanging on the wall. I did not know if there was a rule or if it could be subjective. Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge! Aug 31st

46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Xiao, this picture has been re-edited based on your suggestions (I hope.) I believe the darker background looks much better in addition to your other suggestions. As for cropping, decided to present both thoughts as a comparison - subject in upper left-hand corner and also in a square frame. Thank you for sharing your comments and also your helpful thoughts.

46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Richard, this is such a beautiful bird, congratulations for getting such a great shot! The bird's feathers are in focus and sharp and he looks beautiful against the green pine needles.
It is a beautiful picture and I learned a lot Lisa's comments on editing.

46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Maria, The textures and details in the feathers present a nice contrast to the smooth water, plus the different color tones of the bird are beautiful against the darker background. I also like how you were close to the ground, on the same level as the grebe. I believe it took a lot of time and patience to get this shot! Tom did a nice job editing it and this is a lovely picture. Aug 26th
46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Jack, This is a great picture! You captured the Black Skimmers perfectly and it tells a wonderful story. Personally, I prefer the picture flipped with adult skimmer on the left because my eyes tend to move in that direction. The chick is the main focal point and cropping makes it is easier to see the bird's eyes and other details on the chick and his fish. I really love this picture, a terrific job!! Aug 23rd
46 Aug 23 Comment Such a pretty bird, we lots in our yard the spring as soon as berries appear on the palm trees. I love having them around.
I think you did a very nice job on the background although I agree with Maria about removing the foliage at the bottom. This is a beautiful photo, well done!

46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Marilyn, I agree with the others that this is a great capture. Everything is sharp, lots of detail and the sky selection is a nice addition. Generally, I will flip an image so it flows left to right although this seems to be a subjective. Well done, a very nice shot! Aug 23rd
46 Aug 23 Comment Hi Lisa, Wow, what a beautiful image of the white egret! Wonderful details and terrific editing skills. I really like it. Aug 19th
46 Aug 23 Reply Hi Marilyn, thank you for sharing your thoughts! Aug 19th
46 Aug 23 Reply Hi Kathy, unfortunately, this was taken in mid-day sunlight in Florida, certainly not the best time of day! The square crop does look much better and the water provides a nice contrast with the swans, if only the feathers were not blown out. Thank you for commenting and also for showing how it would look when cropped.

46 Aug 23 Reply Hi Jack, thinking back when I took this picture, I was more drawn to the colorful reflections in the water instead of the swans since I have so many images of these two beautiful birds. Luckily, they were both interested in something at the same time, just too bad the feathers were blown out. And, I do agree that cropping more is best. Thank you! Aug 16th
46 Aug 23 Reply Hi Richard, I like your idea of making the greens a little darker and also separating the swans from the water. Now I want to re-do the image based on everyone's suggestion! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Aug 16th
46 Aug 23 Reply Hi Maria, I can see how more contrast will make a big difference and will also work on the swan's feathers. It will be interesting to see the 'before and after', I will post the results. Thank you for your suggestions! Aug 16th
