Kurtis, I think having the people present adds additional interest to your image. What a treat to have such a wonderful picture from your visit to these caverns!! |

Regina, this is such a nice picture, I like the how the storm clouds create a moody feel and the vertical lines add additional interest. I like seeing this blurred because it creates a feeling of softness in contrast to the storm clouds. I think you did a very good job considering you were working with a broken arm. (That's tough, I hope it heals soon!) |

Marge, this is a very interesting picture. You have a good eye to have captured the man walk walking by and I think he adds a lot. I also thought it might look better as a BW as Kurtis suggested so I gave it a try using Art's image. The BW was accomplished in PS/Bridge but I have a feeling it could even be enhanced more using another editing program like Nik/Silver Efex Pro 3 or Topaz. I really like your picture, great job! |

Wow, what a difference the golden tones and subtle contrasts makes! Yes, the reds and aquas grabbed my attention but the beautiful range of golden tones, contrasts and objects in the original image attracted my attention in a different way. Overall, I like this image better; it is relaxing and the highlighted areas pique my curiosity to want to spend time looking at each interesting part. (Guess that's just me…) Lucky you to have such artistic store windows to enjoy and photograph. Hope you will be sharing more similar to this. |

Kurtis, at first glance this appears to be a beautiful monochrome abstract! The fact that it is huge cavernous room with people standing on the ledge in the distance shows a what a terrific job you did in getting this shot! I like how your editing a lot and cannot think of a way to improve it. A great picture! |

Art, I appreciate the time and work you spent on this image. Removing some branches from the bottom and cropping helped. Just wish more of the natural color of these birds was shown in my picture but unfortunately this was taken in bright sunlight at mid-day so a high key approach seemed to work best. Thank you! |

Thanks Gabriele, for your note and sharing this information about staging a photograph. On another note about the heron family picture, in retrospect I see where leaving a few more tree branches would make for a better story. (I think Kurtis handled the branches nicely.) Thanks for your comments! |

Gabriele, this image immediately grabbed my attention with its vivid colors and abstract design. I like it a lot although after focusing on the wonderful color contrast between the medallion? and red hat, my eyes tended to wander around the bottom and sides area - that's just me. So, I decided to play with it in PS to see what happens. First it was cropped, then the blues and greens in the medallion were luminated using Bridge/Color Mixer, the burn tool was applied on the bottom and lower part of the sides and the focus areas were slightly dodged. I cannot see much difference in this version vs yours except for a subtle approach directing the eyes around the image (in my opinion). Everything about your picture is great and it certainly demands attention in a positive way! |

Art, I love everything about your picture of the heron couple. So sharp with beautiful colors and captured at the perfect moment. I agree with Kurtis that this picture should be on the cover of Audubon Magazine!! So beautiful and it left me with a warm, happy feeling. |

LOL Kurtis, it is too funny that Art and I both posted the same subject. Interestingly herons are actively nesting now along the southeastern coast so it's a great time to photograph them.
On another note, I think you did an amazing job editing this picture! The detailed steps you took are helpful and I will go back and follow your directions, you made such a big improvement. Really appreciate all the time you took working with this and sharing your knowledge, Thank you!!
