Such a beautiful picture Kurtis! Love the rich colors and sharpness of the bird. You also deserve a lot of credit for patience when taking this shot. A wonderful image to have on display! |

Hi Art, I like your image. To me it is simple and soothing with soft, symmetrically flowing lines which define the overall shape with stronger ones drawing the eyes to the center. The sepia color seems the perfect choice with its varying degrees of shading. I like your abstract image, very creative! |

Gabriele, an excellent composition in my opinion. At first glance the overall strength of your image demands my attention. Then my eyes travel through it, observing small details and lingering on the contrast between the tree and the stormy sky. Don't think this would look as good in color as it does in B&W. Beautiful picture! |

Hum...monochrome, I hadn't thought about that.
I just used Nik/Silver Efex Pro 2 and this is how it turned out. I really like this in B&W also. Thanks, Kurtis, for your thoughts!

You are right Art, and I have learned a lot more about editing thanks to everyone sharing their thoughts.
This is my re-edited image based on the one you did earlier.

What a difference between your edit and mine, and I like yours much better! To me, your edit makes such a big improvement. (I posted this image on my blog yesterday, now I'm going to update it asap and re-post.) Thank you Art for your help! |

Thank you Gabriele. Looking at this picture once again, I agree that perhaps it should be cropped differently, think it will be an improvement. Not too sure though about replacing the sky, I like the mood showing a typical Maine day. That being said, I'll edit it again in PS to see how a different sky looks. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, thank you again.
