38 Nov 20 Reply Hi Marge, yes you are right. With the colors in the trees and stormy sky this could work as a panorama. Actually, I cropped off a pier and house on the sides which might be interesting. Thanks Marge! Nov 26th
38 Nov 20 Reply Gabriele, Interestingly, I debated whether or not to crop out part of the sky because I see some drama and beauty there. Think when I redo this, the sky and part of the bottom will be added back. Thank you for your thoughts and also encouragement to start entering some contests! Nov 26th
38 Nov 20 Reply Art, thank you for catching the fringing around the trees, I missed that. Did you use a gold filter on the photo, it does make the image look more intriguing. Thanks! Nov 26th
38 Nov 20 Reply Alan, you mentioned you were looking for Luminance, I found this tutorial in phlearn.com: Better Than HDR-Master Luminosity Masks in PS. It probably is not what you are looking for but thought I'd mention it. Have fun with your photo art! Nov 26th
38 Nov 20 Reply Hi Alan, Here are the filters used in PhotoShop and Nik.
PS/Camera Raw: Basic/"auto" + adjust sliders; Color Mixer - desaturate some fall colors, then Luminance

Nik/Color Efex Pro 4: Detail extractor, High Key, Darken/Lighten Center

Hope this helps!

38 Nov 20 Comment I really like your image, Marge and like the way Kurtis edited it. I love the reflection behind the solitary subject, such a nice contrast. For fun, I added more space at the top to give the figure more room.(PS) Then, used Darken/Lighten center to put more emphasis on the subject.(Nik) A great picture! Nov 23rd
38 Nov 20 Comment Kurtis, the colors in your picture are rich and beautiful, it is a relaxing scene. Adding a third bison seems to add more visual balance. Or, I wonder how it would look if the landscape was recomposed (PS) a bit to decrease some of the open space between the two bison? Then add the sunset sky as before, just a thought. The pleasing colors and scene would certainly look good on most any wall! A very nice picture. Nov 23rd
38 Nov 20 Comment Regine, I think this is a bright, colorful picture. The subject flower has sharp details against the nicely blurred background. I have not tried taking multiple exposures in my camera yet. Although I like seeing what you are doing and will have to give it a try one day. Great job! Nov 23rd
38 Nov 20 Comment Art, I think the individual pictures of your subjects are very good; sharp, clear and in good color. I also like how the picture flows with the larger images at the top plus the background color goes from black to orange. The handsome fella with red ears at center top caught my eye right away and arranging the wolf? head beneath him is good balance as well as the arrangement of the other characters in your picture.
An well executed and interesting photograph but probably not one I would like to hang on my wall... Sorry ðŸ˜

38 Nov 20 Comment I really like this image Gabriele, and especially your title! The "facial expression" on the hummingbird in the center and also on the right is interesting. Are these two discussing the weather or are they eyeing each other because one thinks the other one got too much of the food?? A fun picture! Nov 23rd
38 Nov 20 Comment A beautiful image, Sunandan! I also like the way Art brightened it up overall to bring out more detail. Love your story telling! Nov 23rd
38 Nov 20 Comment Kurtis, thank you for your critique. Your revised edit, cropping a bit off the bottom, made a noticeable improvement in the picture.
Am appreciative of your kind words!

54 Nov 20 Comment Alan, your composite is excellent! I especially like moving the street light to create a scene of mystery and intrigue. And, how well you created light and then the man's shadow. Very creative and artistic! Nov 25th
