Marge, I also want to congratulate you for your outstanding image (Black Skimmer) spotted this in the member showcase. It is a great capture and composition. I am more and more into Bird photography but still struggling with bird in flight. But it is a lot of fun and a new adventure in photography for me.I like to get up early, be in a quiet location and wait until the subject of my attention confirms my presence. |

I would like to echo Kurtis comment. It is exactly what I first felt when discovering the picture. The sky is on fire... what a treat to have a shack in Italy to go on retreat!!!
I tried the B&W. Of course the B&W would need another title. You might not like it. But I like the drama of this picture . Another feeling. One might like it or hate it. |

Kurtis, it is a great capture and I really like your post processing. I don't think I can do better. The sepia effect is perfect for this picture. Both images Art's and Yours pleased my eyes. It is hard to choose which crop is better. Your picture brings back good memories. We went to Cody WY, 20 years ago and I still remember very well this ambiance. Thank you for sharing.

Nice capture Marge. The highlights in the eyes and the lighting are perfect. I really like the owl in her natural frame. It enhances your picture. It gives us the contest and the story. I cropped, added some shadows on the bird and desaturated the sky. Here is my version. Hope you'll like it. Thank you for working on the background of my picture. Much appreciated. Now I know it is possible. I need to improve my skills with PS. |

Art, It is a very disturbing photograph for sure. Very powerful in a certain point of view and this is the beauty of Art. Political, social statements are important to make us think out of our small world.
What else can I say?
May I ask the Artist's name and the name of this piece? thanks.
Looking forward to seeing
your next submission. |

Thank you all for your comments and different approach.
I am going to try to process this picture in PS again. I really like how you were able to clean up the background.
I still don't understand why I couldn't use the remove and clone tool. If you know a good tutorial, I would appreciate it. Many thanks |
